  1. Ok guys, I need some advice. Am I the only person on this earth who had a lapband and hasn't lost weight. I got banded July 3rd. After my surgery I lost weight maybe 3 lbs. quickly went into bandster hell where I gained 2 lbs. I had my first fill where I dropped an additional 8 lbs. at that point I was down 20 from where I started. Found out I was pregnant and gained 5 lbs! A second fill and miscarriage later my weight has not moved. My second fill did nothing for me after the second day. I am within the same 10 lbs I was on surgery day. What the heck is going on??? Some days I have absolutely no restriction???

    Weight loss stall

Thanks guys, i hope this doesn't sound stupid but I didn't think my body needed time to adjust. I guess I am just ready to jump back in. I do need to learn to take a step back and relax before I trudge forward. Funny how stress really does affect your body!!

    Weight loss stall

    1) were you banded july 2012 or 2013? -banded in 2013 2) how far along were you when miscarried? (Im not prying, its relevant in regards to how long the body needs to recover) -miscarried at 6 weeks, didn't pass anything until 12.5 weeks (I had the d and c last week) 3) how many cc's are in your band at this time -my dr won't tell me how many ccs are in my band since he is convinced I will compare to others 4) What are you eating, how many cals? -I wanna say I don't eat terrible. There is room for improvement, but I wouldn't say enough to cause a stall?? I maintained my weight eating way more calories that I am now which doesn't make sense to me. I don't count strictly but I would say, around 1200, maybe less
  4. I'm horrified about the what ifs. Don't know what to do. Scared to tell my surgeon. I have not been losing weight I have only lost 11 lbs post op but my blood sugar has regulated so its not all for nothing. I see a lot of people who have miscarried. Can anyone shed some light on being pregnant this soon after being banded??
  5. Guys i need some serious advice. Here is my story. I got banded on 7/3/13. Initially i struggled to lose weight even on a pre op and post op liquid diet. I was losing but not very quick which is fine. After surgery i was transitioned to solid foods after only a week and a half because i had healed so quickly. I went to see my surgeon about a month after my band for my first fill. By this point i had nailed down my diet and excercise routine and was losing weight in bandster hell just based on that. After my first fill i started dropping weight quick and then bam, found out i was pregnant. My OB wanted me to take in 1700 calories a day. I was concerned at first but my surgeons office said as long as i can get it and im not getting sick its not a problem. Unfortunately i miscarried and now i am having a hard time going back to my regimen from before!!!! I have almost no restriction at this point and for some reason the idea of seeing my surgeon is giving me anxiety. Gaining weight, in addition to the miscarriage is making me depressed. I really dont want to enter the food depression cycle...i dont know what to do

    Im having a meltdown

Update: I went to see my surgeon early this past Monday. He asked me how the last month had gone and I explained everything that happened. I felt bad cuz I emotionally dumped on him but he was very understanding about it all. I told him I had not felt any kind of restriction 2 weeks after my initial fill, needless to say he filled me. Today I am weighing 4 lbs less than I did on Monday. Still struggling to eat all the correct foods but making strides to keep pushing towards my goal. He did recommend waiting a year before getting pregnant so back to the gyn I go for some contraceptives xoxo to you all

    Im having a meltdown

Thank you so much everyone for the awesome advice. I knew posting here would bring wonderful insight. It really does help to hear that its normal. This whole time I have been anxious about what my surgeon would say and how he might be upset with me since I have not brought him the results I promised. I appreciate everyone who replied it really does bring me comfort. I do need to let my mind settle before I can focus. My poor husband I have asked him to hold me accountable but I am just so unmotivated right now. I couldn't be more grateful and blessed to have an amazing support group including you all. Thank you guys so much!!!

    Im having a meltdown

Mis, Thank you for your kind words. Just a ball of emotions but I'm trying my best not to gain weight!! Lol as sad as that is. Just don't know how to start over. Re focusing on my weight loss may help me feel better and distract me but I just can't control myself right now. Not having any restriction does not help!

Thanks lellow! I love a good happy ending. I've had only had one fill myself (this past Friday) and my dr would not tell me how much he put in. Lol he said I will try and compare with my other band buddies and its not important. I'm glad your friend had a healthy baby and pregnancy. Praying for the same

    Fertile After Being Banded?

I just found out I was pregnant 37 days after my band lol so it definitely made me more fertile. Ladies that got pregnant soon after the band, should I be worried about miscarriage? I am kinda scared and found out just today.

I messed up. Pregnant 37 days post op

Thanks ladies. And yes, I am referring to banded women who have miscarried. But I've also seen people stories now about people who are banded and make it out just fine. I am going to call my obgyn and my surgeon on Monday. His office never said anything to me about pregnancy at all during my times I had spent there. One of the nurses who works in his office just made a joke about how the nickname for it should be the fertile band. Pregnancy was not even on my mind, so I never even asked my doc about it. Sigh, wish me luck guys lol.

I forgot to say I'm currently at 285 and have had two miscarriages in the past ugh I'm so stressed out over this!!!
  14. Has anyone else seen the bumps in their marriage while in this process? I haven't even had the band yet and I'm already seeing some changes...an overwhelming statistic of people end up getting divorced after weight loss surgery . This is supposed to be one of the best experiences in my life and I feel like now it's being overshadowed by me trying to compensate for his insecurity. I love him but, it's hurts me a little that he is acting this way

    Not losing

Donyedd we share a Bandie bday I was banded 7/3 and have only lost 11-13 lbs (fluctuates daily) at first I was really upset cuz I would step on the scale and it would go down and then go back up! It's like everyday is groundhogs day and I'm seeing the same numbers. But after reading thru the forum I realized that right now ISN'T about weightless, it's about healing!! (As hard as that is and As much as we love to see ourselves losing) in my eyes, my body is trying to regulate itself after going on pre op diet, surgery, and now post op diet. We will reach our goals in due time, we need to prep our little bands and bodies for the battle first! Keep your head up!
  16. Ok so I'm confused. I see tons of people who have a hard time getting all the required liquid down but I have no issues with clear liquids and I have only felt restriction once with a cream soup. I wanna say the first two days I felt restriction with clear liquid but even my protein shakes I can drink them with no issues and not feeling full??? Any ideas??

    Please help hungery!

The gas pain was so bad for me I thought I was going to have a panic attack in the hospital cuz I couldn't even remotely expand my lungs due to the gas. Walking really helped, it got better for me every day.

    Please help hungery!

If your allowed creamy soups, Campbell's makes a butternut squash bisque omgggg shoots me into space after broth and shakes for a couple days. It's creamy already no chunks. Heaven
