would be cheaper to fly to the UK and pay privately to have the surgery here lol.. poor you thats a huge bill to find :(

Sounds like a deal. I've heard my surgeon in MA tell people it's about $20k. I was fortunate to have medical insurance coverage.

Good luck!

Sue

I paid $14,000 and worth every $$$$$$$$.

I paid a bit more and also think it is worth every penny!

The self pay people at my surgens office have to pay 15000. I had insurnace thankfully but I think even 15000 would be worth it

I paid about $16k in Nevada

i was self pay and it hit me up$12,500 and worth every penny!!!

I know it will worth every penny, but try to explain it too my husband!ii tied to reason with him, but no luck. He says you lost weight before you could do it again on your own(in 2008 i lost on a low carb diet over 60 lbs in 5 month, i kept the weigh off for about 4 month , got pregnant and now 20 month later I'm again 193 lbs. $12750 it is just hospital and surgeon fee almost all the test are on the insurance. MY doctor will try to file for the insurance but I'm sure they will deny, my BMI is 32. I do not want to lie to my hubby , but thinking maybe i tell him insurance is paying for have of the surgery and secretly charge the other have to my mom credit card and pay it off

Do you guys, who self pay for the surgery pay for the fills out of the pocket or insurance covers it?

I'm in NW suburb of Chicago and it's 17k here. I'm a BMI of 40 but was just below it for 8 years (within 10 pounds). I have high triglycerides and cholesteral and insulin resistance but no "major" comorbidities so UHC has been denying my appeals. So sad but think going with the 17k as really feel like this is the tool for me to help get healthy.
