  1. Hello! I got my band in 2011. I am what a person may call a success. I weigh 153 now and started at 259. Me weight has gone up and down over the years but been holding steady for awhile. I am meeting a new bariatric surgeon next week to hopefully start the removal process. The band has become problematic. I suffer from severe acid reflux and cant get much food down anymore. I dont know if the band slipped but hopefully will know more soon. I am not planning on a sleeve or bypass. Having part of my stomach permanently removed has never sat right with me which is how I ended up with the band in the first place. I do understand why so many people have it removed but I wish my story could have ended like yours. I never planned to take it out but also cant live in this pain much longer
  2. My surgery was on 10-19-11. I have exercised and counted calories that's about it lol. I do pretty much eat what I want but try not to eat over 1200 calories a day. I try to exercise at least 5 times a week but that doesn't always happen. In the beginning I exercised much more. Sometimes two hours a day. That was when I lost a big chunk of my weight. Its coming off much slower now but ill get there!

  4. I take my multi vitamin every single day and my fiber supplement! Very important! I put them right there on the counter so I remember!
  5. It depends on the person. I drink soda daily (1) and haven't had any issues. I know some do not handle it well.
  6. I am not a teacher but when I get stressed my band gets tight. When I cry my band gets super tight
  7. I have a very simple scale. its a health o meter but it matches my surgens scale every single time. Like I said though its not fancy.
  8. Good luck!!
  9. I have mirena and so far no issues. I really like it

  15. I eat pizza about once a week and not thin crust either
  16. I don't know. My dr told me no soda at all. I drink one per day for the caffiene. No problems as of yet
  17. I am always very hungry the week before my period...the band has done nothing to help. I do eat a lot more during that week but it has no long term negative effects on my weight loss
  18. I take a fiber supplement to help with that...works wonders. I take the cvs gummies but any kind will do
  19. I was on hydrochlorthizide (sp)? And that was the best ever. I was on that due to high bp as well. Now since I've lost all this weight my bp has returned to normal and the drs arnt sure they wanna give me that pill. I plan to make an appt with my dr again to talk to him about this issue but I wanna try something in the meantime as we all know how long it can take to see our drs. Lol I do tend to have to much sodium in my diet so I know I need to watch that as well. I really do have a problem though. I can drink 5 or 6 bottles of water and never need to use the bathroom.
  20. I liked the idea of the "adjustable band" I have a good friend who had gastric and she had many complications that continue till this day. She regrets it and always tells me she wish she had gotten lap band
  21. Does anyone know of any good otc water pill? My body holds so much water and I can't seem to get rid of it on my own. I have been trying dyurex (sp)? The last week or so and its not really helpful.
  22. I'm pretty sure it was all just water weight from eating to much sodium last week. I went back home for a funeral and it was all just ham and ham and yes...more ham lol
  23. I am allowed to eat regular food the day of the fill. Then liquids for 24 hours and pureed food for 24 hours
  24. Dawn checking in at 173.8!
