  1. Hello! I got my band in 2011. I am what a person may call a success. I weigh 153 now and started at 259. Me weight has gone up and down over the years but been holding steady for awhile. I am meeting a new bariatric surgeon next week to hopefully start the removal process. The band has become problematic. I suffer from severe acid reflux and cant get much food down anymore. I dont know if the band slipped but hopefully will know more soon. I am not planning on a sleeve or bypass. Having part of my stomach permanently removed has never sat right with me which is how I ended up with the band in the first place. I do understand why so many people have it removed but I wish my story could have ended like yours. I never planned to take it out but also cant live in this pain much longer
  2. After having my band for almost two years...I still forget. If I haven't learned yet...I never will
  3. I started at 260. My surgens office.wanted me to get down to 180. My personal goal was 140. I currently sit at 129. Your goal is what you make it. As long as YOU feel good about it. I sometimes think I went to far.and lost to much. I have had.people ask me if I am ill. I think I look ok

  7. They never gave me a frame of time. However when I told them my goal was 140 she told me (not in so many words) that it was a bit of reach...she told me to try to get to 180. That particular women no longer works there so I will never be able to show her I did it. It doesnt matter though! I know I did I couldnt be happier either
  8. Just wanted to let everyone know I reached my goal of 140 pounds today! I am very pleased with my band! It took 1 year and 4 months but it was time well spent! Now time to work on some toning to everyone...keep going even when it gets tough just keep pushing through...its not always easy but well worth it in the end

  23. I would go to your appt and speak with the surgen. Ask questions. I have not had a band slip but I know their are others on here who have and hopefully will be along soon with more info. I wouldn't panic until you talk to the surgen though. As for that pain you had...sounds a lot like the pain I had when I had gallbladder attacks. Not saying that's it but just throwing it out there. I wish you the best of luck!
