It is because you have a Realize band. It needs more fill to achieve any kind of restriction.

Tell them in simple terms. Maybe say that Mummy has to go into the hospital so that the Dr can do something to help Mummy lose weight. Explain that being over weight is unhealthy. I wouldn't go into great detail about the op and anaesthesia etc as you don't want to scare them. I would focus on how afterwards you will have to eat slowly and carefully and exercise. it might be a good opportunity for everyone in the family to get involved in healthy eating and exercise etc.

Yes it is. As I've lost weight it's become more pronounced. Not a bad trade-off imo.

An only liquid diet doesnt slough away the crud that builds up in our mouths or take away the dead skin cells from our tongues, this coupled with the protein in shakes makes our mouths feel like the inside of a banana skin .. once u start eating normally things will improve. This is also common after any surgery, but normally we are qquicker to start eating normally than for bariatric surgery. Just keep up a good hygiene routine for your mouth .. it will get better

agree with all posters......let me add, it will take WANT power.
if you want to lose weight and be healthy, then do what you have to do. no side steps, no i cant this or that. you just do it. (think of all you did to get this surgery). it was worth it. so its worth it for you to stay strong and positive.
    you got this

It takes all the will power you can muster.... but keep in mind...any weight you lose will shorten the time until you hit your goal while any weight you gain will prolong it. Thats what kept me on track!
    You can do it!

You can always call your doctors office and request to move your visit up a week or two. All they can say is no. If you throw in some desperation you might get better results. And if your doctor allows you to contact him/her directly you might have more success.
7 weeks is a long time for some of us. Mine was supposed to be 6 weeks but I got my doctor to move it up one week. And I did get a fill.

I agree it seems a harsh response, some of us do get over anxious when we visit doctos so maybe his respnse was meant differently than how it felt to you, or maybe he is just a jerk

10 lbs is average so maybe you misunderstood him or were you reading between the lines? That's a rather odd response from a bariatric doc?

No offense but hes a jerk. My Dr.'s office expects 4lbs. a month and nothing the 1st 6 wks because your body is healing and that is what you should be concentrating on healing and adjusting to your new lifestyle.

Today is my 9 month bandiversary too. Down 47 with 33 to go. Yes, it sure slowed down didn't it? I've been at this same weight for 5 weeks now but I'm taking responsibility for the plateau. If I could be more disciplined in my food intake I think I could drop 3-4 lbs in a few days. It's harvest time and I love the fruit and vegetables that are available right now. I'm eating well and eating healthy but I'm eating a little too much.
I may go back in for a small fill myself. Seems like everything goes down too easy right now. But, going to Mexico in 2 months and don't want to be too tight so I think I'll wait till after the trip or even January. Losing 2-3 lbs a month till then is acceptable to me at this point.

I would say anywhere between 4 and 8 would be green zone for most with a 10cc band hard to be anymore specific really

Well, I never expect to get full. That feeling is long gone. But what I have found helped was adding a 4th meal. Sometimes I will eat my lunch as early as 10:30 or 11 if I am really hungry. Then again around 2 and then dinner a few hours later.

They can take a beating. Made of a soft silicone. I would think it would take placing the port on a hard surface and hitting it with a hammer to destroy it. But the most dangerous part is the fact that the port is sewn into the muscles of your body with sutures and those sutures are still very fragile only 3 weeks out. Better check with your doctor and maybe mend that conflict with the nurse. Otherwise, you're going to pay a small fortune to get another doctor to advise you?

Any loss is good... Some months you will lose more than
Others....but as long as you are losing its a good thing. Also depending on how much you want to lose it is really overwhelming to get your head around it. I had over 200 l s to lose so my dr suggested I take it ten pounds at a time.... I did ok with that but I am not a very patient person so often I found myself worrying about how much more I had to lose. Now 21 months out I technically have 13 lbs to my goal. But as I get there I am thinking about losing 10 lbs more than I originally planned
    ... Go figure!

i would suggest that you have a complete unfill and see if you can cope without the help of a band, if you can then u are better deciding to remove it or not .. good luck to you .. at least by unfilling u will get a reminder of what it was like pre-band

No one loves pizza more than me. I am at restriction and eat pizza maybe once a year. More about the calories than not being able to eat it. I try to have a small low cal salad first and then one piece of pizza. I also try to have chicken breast as a topping to get some protein in.
