Caffeine and dehydration

I know there are a lot of different opinions going around, but give me a good old scientific study any day...

I lost all my weight drinking coffee. Unfortunately, it turns out that caffeine gives me headaches so I had to drop it anyway!

I have always drunk coffee with no adverse effects,, Mayo clinic study actually concludes the same as the article you linked, their one proviso is that drinking vast quantities of caffine may have a diuretic effect . Just don't drink it too strong and u can drink away all day :)

Caffiene was never about dehydration its because it is a stomach irritant. This a confusing issue with a lot of people but it has nothing to do with dehydration at all. Most doctors recommend not drinking regular coffee because it is an irritant.

No, this has nothing to do with coffee. I was addressing the claims that caffeinated drinks are diuretic and shouldn't be used for hydration. BTW, my Dr. has absolutely no problems with coffee or caffeine.
