    Righteous Restriction

wondering how its going these days...I havent been on this site in a while. I am just cruising along at normal BMI and feeling good.
  5. Thinking about the TT and asked my PS about switching to the low profile port because mine looks like a half a golf ball under my skin! He said there isnt that much difference and it might not be worth it because there would still be a bump. Not sure If I want to spend 7K and still have a weird lump! Anyone have this issue ? Thanks all!

  11. I got my first restriction at 6ccs in a 10cc band...how much do you have?
  12. GOOD: three years out I am a size 6 and this is actually easy. BAD: hmmmm, nope, nothing.

    Vegetarians/vegans!

I eat lots of beans and nuts. I probably eat too much cheese.I do love a Boca since its 21 grams of protein but I avoid most of the soy stuff because its loaded with estrogen (cancer for us girls, man boobs for the boys)...I start every day with the Cosco Premier Protein shake fr 160cals and 30 grams of protein...

Why So Tight In The A.m.?

Mollie is exactly right...during the night body fluids shift out of our cells and into the spaces in between cells...mine goes exactly like my wedding band snug in the morning (shake only), good during the day, and then too loose at night...my ring is slipping off and I have to have the discipline not to do the evening snacking while watching TV!!! I think since I am three years out this variabilty is the hardest thing about the band...

So Excited! Tt Four Years After Lapband!

I have heard its pretty brutal but short-lived and well worth it...I am chicken to do it and I hate to lay out that amount of cash...especially since my port already looks like a golf ball and they said that wont go away...
  16. For me the whole point of this band is not to diet because I failed at that so many times..I do always eat protein first (minimum 60 grams a day) but thats really it. I have logged my food because people have asked me what and how much I eat and its about 1000 calories daily. I try to eat plants and not too many things made in plants! (factories!)...best of luck. I believe this is simple and we really over think it!

    Question Help

Its hard but dont judge your progress by not losing in two weeks...if you are eating 1200 cals a day or less it will come off. I cant eat a whole sandwich but I have my band pretty tight and I like it that way. I eat about 1000 cals a day and I am really never depriving myself or dieting...also I dont exercise so if you do you can eat more...

    I'm At Newbie At This!

I am three years out and I keep food with me at all times. I eat normal food but I dont like to let myself get too hungry. I almost always have nuts or cheese or something in my purse...you are right to try to plan ahead...

When Did You Get Your First Fill?

First, what would it cost for a fill? (this is money well spent on your health if you need it). Green zone is feeling satisfied on tiny portions and it can take many fills to get there. I got three fills totalling 6cc in a 10cc band to get to my first green zone so I say get started now if you can afford it. I lost my green zone a couple of times as I lost weight as fat is disappearing under your band...good luck.
  20. You MUST learn not to get stuck either by eliminating that food, chewing better, eating less, or more slowly! This damages your body and we did this to get healthy right? Getting stuck is not because your band is too tight, it is because of something you are doing and need to change (well, unless every single bite you eat gets stuck, than your band is too tight)...bast of luck.
  21. If you wait long enough, if it is hunger you will know it because you will be ready to eat your own leg! Using food to 'settle your stomach' is a habit you will want to start breaking...

    Band Not Working

It all comes down to calories (taken in and burned)...I think if you are female you need to be under 1200 a day and get enough fills to make that easy or at least doable for you. You MUST know how many calories you are taking in every day to know why you arent losing weight...part of why we have all had weight problems is we have lied to ourselves a bit about what we eat and how much...do a log and find out exactly how much you are taking in...

    After Fill???

I usually did a day of liquids, a day of mushies, etc...but of course do what your doc recommends!
  24. The addiction to food is hard to break, as is the drive to overeat even when it is painful. You are doing the right thing to start over with liquids and advance your diet slowly to try to get back on track. The hardest time is at the beginning where I assume you are...this is a lot of work but it does get easier! Good luck!
  25. Even tiny sips of water? If not you must see your doc...MANY docs put a couple of ccs in your band during surgery as mine did and yes, I had to have it taken out...if you cannot keep hydrated you need medical help. If you cant eat food, tough it out...you will loosen up.
