Gaining weight
Same boat! I had surgery in 2011 and lost 105 but up 30. I know what needs to be done, not sure why I let myself struggle so much. My real struggle is sweets and night time eating. I can do good all day, still measure my meals and I'm good there. So today, I am starting again!

Autism and my band...
Don't beat yourself up! Everyone has their good days, their bad days. 2 years out and I still have them and it still gets frustrating for me. You do have a tough job! I subbed for a couple of years in the autism program in our district and if I did 3 days in a row, I was BEAT!!!!!! Hang in there!

MIssy, you are too funny!!!

In the name of Captain Kirk
I don't think I was told to only have 4 ounces at a time. I mixed up my shake and had the whole thing, though I think it did take about an hour to get down since I would freeze them.

almonds
I actually just started buying the Blue Diamond honey roasted almonds and love them! Sometimes I just need a few. 40 calories isn't too bad for 7. I usually bag them up in servings of 14 nuts.

New here!
Welcome aboard!! You will find some great info and some great people here. You wont hear any horror stories from me, I love my band! I started out at 235 and my goal at the time was 75 pounds which seemed like a huge amount to tackle. I didn't even think I could get lower than that. But I did. I hit my first goal of 175, then 160, then 140 and then I said 135 and now I would love to see 129. If I can keep myself under 135 I will be a happy camper. If I can do it, you can do it too! Good luck!

Time Between Bites?
I have gotten so used to cold food too now that it doesn't bother me. For the most part, I eat breakfast and lunch alone so I can take how ever long I want. Before surgery I would polish off my dinner plate in less than 10 minutes and my hubby would still bet there for another half hour. Even now sometimes he is still eating after I finish and it may take me 30-45 minutes. I guess that is why I had the weight problem and he is skinny!

How I feel about some things...
good luck and welcome aboard!! I can tell I like you already!

Time Between Bites?
In the beginning I would take a bite and look at the clock on either the cable box, computer or car radio and wait for a minute to pass. But 2 years out, I don't really even think about it any more to be honest with you. It just kind of becomes second nature, unless I am raving hungry, eat too fast and end up getting stuck!! Luckily that doesn't happen to often!

This was not in the brochure
so happy that I am not the only one....good thing I now have 2 dogs to blame it on!!!!

Lap Band vs. the Sleeve
keeping track of how much I eat is the key to my success, and exercising too. But If I had to pick the #1 thing it would be tracking my intake. I weigh and measure everything and pretty much keep to my portions for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Weight Gain
I go up and down 3 pounds all the time. One thing I would suggest is to skip the OJ unless your dr said that you need it. One 8 ounce cup is around 110 calories. Drinking a few of those every day can add up quickly on the calories.

8 pounds to hit goal
Congrats! I tried to make an appt for 1-800- get thin but they wouldn't accept me because I was a cash patient and said they only took insurance patients.

crossed over :)
woo hoo!!! 10 sizes is a great accomplishment!!

Feeling your port
I could barley feel mine when I was first banded, but now you can see it. My hubby says he can feel it all the time....
-
Troublesome foods
There isn't much either that I can't eat. I can't eat too many raw carrots and snow peas also get stuck at times. I will eat grapes but spit out the skin, but go figure that I will eat the whole skin from a baked potato! If something gets stuck, it is usually from eating too fast when I am really hungry.

Faces Don't Lie....
and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I have ever been called beautiful, tiny and fit!!!!!!! Did I tell you that I love you girl?!!!!
-
Faces Don't Lie....
funny though because I still see a round face in my pics. Doesn't help when my hubby has a narrow thin face!
-
Faces Don't Lie....
great job! And lucky you, I don't think I will ever have a small face! Cursed with the Kronquist noggin side of the family!!!

Unfilled band question
if you are already measuring and logging I am sure you will do fine!

Unfilled band question
I didn't feel much of a difference for a long time. It took many, many fills for me. But one thing I did from day 1 was measure and weigh everything I ate and stuck to what I should be eating, well 99% of the time that first year!
-
Unfilled band question
I had 3 put in my band at surgery and it still took a few fills before I felt any different. Everyone is different as you will see.
-
Re fill?
When I had my first unfill she took out .4 which was the amount of my previous fill. I went back 2 weeks later and she gave me .25 and was fine after that.
