my kids were sick and then I got it and did throw up a few times. Well, got a very bad center of the chest pain that went to my back for several days. my PCP thought it was my cold but as I got well the reflex got worst. Went to my surgeon yesterday and when I throught up part a small part of my stomach came threw the band and hung there, that's what is called slippage so he had to remove all the Fluid I cried all the way home. I will go back in two weeks to see how its doing and maybe just maybe he can refill if not it will be another week. I am so scared I will gain. I will track everything nothing in the house to cheat on and I will talk to myself every minute. Lots of Water of course and I need to go back and reread the book...no bread ever again in my life which I did not understand b4 no problem I can live with that . He can me meds to help me not be hungry but I am still worried... I have a plan but still you know how it is. CALL YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU THROW UP OR HAVE REFEX RIGHT AWAY. its the band until he tells you it is not...reflex is always the band y doctor told me.

I agree. I was too tight and kept thinking it was just me and not eating slow enough or small enough bites. I was delaying going to the doc as I kept thinking I just needed to do better with my eating. Well, after 2 weeks of struggling and many visits to the porcelain god, I went in and got an unfill. I could barely get Water down my tummy was a mess.

I just found out yesterday from my doc that I had a slight slippage. He wasn't concerned as it was slight; however, it sure was upsetting and knowing for me it was self-inflicted. He is hopeful that since I was unfilled and had no issues since then that it may have corrected itself but to watch out for any symptoms (reflux or band feeling way too loose). After 6 wks I was able to get a small fill again yesterday.

I hope all goes well for you and this resolves itself for you as well. :) Hang in there!!!

CG, this is what I was explaining a little yesterday. ;)

Best wishes line-dancer. I have been there, too! My surgeon suggests that if you have the bug, you need to get the fill removed to vomit. Real vomiting can cause slippage. Karen

Sounds like a good thing your Fluid was removed. A few weeks without it will give your stomach a chance to recover. I had my fill removed 9 months ago and have continued to lose, so don't panic.

The problem with a stomach virus is that you never know if or when it's going to hit you and once it does, going in for an unfill is really not considerate of the medical personnel and other people you might infect along the way, not to mention trying to even get there in that condition.

I've had three episodes of stomach flu in the last 18 months with violent puking and diarrhea, one with fill and two with no fill. My band is in place despite this. Many people get anti nausea medication to keep on hand for this and take it at the first sign of trouble.

I hope the unfill does the trick and you can get refilled ASAP.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
