    Nsv At The Gym!

Way to go! I love your posts. You have such great advice and a good attitude as well! Keep up your good work
  3. If it makes you feel any better, my 5 year old has been on miralax daily for several months now with no ill effects (except he is no longer constipated!). His pediatrician prescribed it and has no plans to stop it. It's not a laxative in the traditional sense. It just attracts more water into the colon, making the stools much easier to pass.

Help!! I'm Eating Way Too Much!!

Hi there! For awhile I've been debating whether or not to post this very same question! This is terrible. Like you, the only time I realize I even have a band is when I eat too fast or don't chew very well. Otherwise...I feel like all the diets I've ever done before. And failed at. I was banded on 12/20/11 and have had one fill as well. I dont like this feeling. I want to be successful! I want to feel satisfied with a 1/2 cup meal! Is that too much to ask? I have a Lapband, for Pete's sake! In other words, I feel your pain. Hang in there, and hopefully, sooner than later, we will both be in the magical green zone!

    Eating Too Much

Hi there! I am feeling your pain. I was banded on dec. 20, am on a regular diet, and even had my first (0.5cc) fill this past Monday. But I feel almost as though I don't even have a band. I get hungry. My meals, while protein heavy and healthy, are not 1/4 or 1/2 cup in total. That wouldn't cut it at this point. I track calories, protein & exercise on my fitness pal, and I feel like I am on another weight watchers diet, the kind I've failed at before. It's just hard... Can't wait till I am in the green zone and will be able to lower my calories (I eat about 1000 most days) comfortably. Hang in there and know you aren't alone! Best of luck to you.

    Shakeology

Hi there! I have been curious about shakeology. I've read about it and it sounds super healthy. If you've tried it, what do you think? How does it taste compared to some of the other protein powders you've tried? I recently tried a recipe I found on Lapband.com called Snicker bar shake...it's good! Basically, it's chocolate protein powder, milk, some sugar free fat free butterscotch flavor Jello pudding mix, sugar free chocolate syrup and ice. If you like snickers like I do, you'll love this! And somewhere on this site someone mentioned a blog called The World According to Eggface. The blogger had gastric bypass and she puts tons of recipes for food and shakes online. You should check it out. Good luck!
  7. I am in the same boat. I was banded on the 20th and although I know my doc's instructions, boy they looked a lot easier on paper than they are proving to be in practice! I guess this is where a big part of the battle is fought. Seems that way from comments made by bandsters who are much further along in the process than we are. We just need to stick it out, follow the rules, and hopefully soon, we will all be on the other side of this! Happy holidays to all and a peaceful, quiet tummy to all the newbies out there!
  8. I just had to say thank you for having the nerve and posting this question, and to you who answered it! Misery loves company is a true true thing, I am finding! I was banded on Tuesday Dec. 20 and have had the same experience. It is ever so lovely, no? But it beats the feeling that I am so hungry I could eat the couch!! Suck it up is easier said than done, but I am sucking away...
  9. Glad to hear you are home! Hope each day is getting better. I am feeling not so great...sore, swollen, gas, etc. Still taking pain meds but hoping to be more normal by Christmas eve. Can't believe I'm banded!
  10. Lol you got me! Then again I am one day post-op and the lortab is kicking in Happy holidays to all and may we all have a healthy, happy & skinny 2012!!
  11. Nope, no pre-op diet (my doc just said to not gain any weight) or bowel prep the night before. Just NPO after midnight the night before surgery.

    December Bandsters!

Hi all, I have been reading all your posts and wanted to thank you all for the positivity, good ideas, etc. I was banded ths morning at 11:30 and am super sore. Had lots of pain & nausea immediately post-op, but my anesthesiologist was terrific and dosed me up with lots of goodies! So I am still sore & loving my nasty tasting liquid lortab, but no more nausea, and have been able to drink, drink, drink. I am hoping that each day will get better and better for myself and all my fellow Dec. Bandsters!! Happy holidays! Karen
  13. Just wanted to check in and see how you're doing post-op? I am soooo sore but at least the horrible nausea that I had in recovery room has passed, and I've been able to drink a lot with only minimal-moderate discomfort. How did all go for you? Good I hope...
  14. Hi there! I have my band placed tomorrow as well...I am right there with you...nervous but so excited! I can't believe it's really happening! Like some of the others, i'd love for you to keep in touch. It will be kind of nice to have others who are going through the very same thing at the same time! Good luck!!
  15. Hi there. My insurance doesn't cover any wls either, so I will be paying out of pocket. I will be calling tomorrow to set up all my pre-op testing appts. My doctor's office told me that there's a good chance my insurance will cover the testing since it's pretty routine stuff...blood work, EKG, X-rays. I agree with that but am not so sure about the psych consult and nutritionist visit. We'll see... Hope so since I've met my yearly deductible!
