Pam, next Tuesday will come so fast! Blink and it will be here. I'm glad you were able to eat at least a lean cuisine. I'm sure that helps a bit.

Michelle, OMG, I can't believe you have a 16 yr old. I can't even begin to imagine... You're such a wonderful mom. I'm excited for him, LOL. Good luck getting everything ready.

Jane, I hope you get help for your headaches. Are you sure they aren't symptoms of something else?

Laura, I took some pics tonight after Juan finished painting. I'm gonna try to post them. I won on the pink. He's going to change it. I just made a pouty face and showed him the picture of the bedding and how soft the pink was. He agreed that the pink was too harsh for that soft green we picked. So we go back to the drawing board on Thursday...

Thanks for the kind words, dear friends... I do love being a mom.

This morning was fun... balloons everywhere, on the tv remote, the computer mouse, even in the shower! Yummy b'fast... he was happy w/his gifts... & gave me an extra big hug before leaving for school... what a guy.

How do they go from this (2001, the year we got our first digital cam):

To this...

So quickly??

Riddle me THAT, Batman.

Morning girls~

Michelle, he is quite a handsome young man! I loved the pics...I LOVELOVELOVE the one w/ the jester hat on and missing a tooth. Yeah, that would be my screen saver for sure!

I am down 7 since Sat! Just feel tired, but think I can do this.

Love the pics of the nursery. I like the pink but see how it can be muted a bit to go w/ the bedding and furniture. I am glad you are having fun w/ it...I know I am having fun watching!

Off to put my face on...love you girls!

It will come as no big surprise, I'm sure, when I tell you that the jester hat picture was taken at his very first US national soccer game! Soccer... of course!

The one where he's reading to C & they both look so intent really gets me, too...

Off to Panda Express to pick up his favs & surprise him @ school lunch w/them!

Good morning, Violets..

Michelle... wish DS a happy birthday for me. He is such a good looking young man. Ya done good, Mom!!

Haydee.. the bedding looks soooooo feminine. I love it! I like the pink paint too, but it probably would overpower the shade of the bedding.

PamELa.. time is flying and soon you'll be on your way to being a real loser!!:(:tt2:

I went to Curves today and had some really perky, upbeat chickie tell me all the things I already knew. I was a member of Curves before the band, so I really didn't need the motivational speech about exercise and diet and Portion Control. sheesh... But I got weighed in and measured. My weight is not only at the holy shit number, but 2# beyond that. I know I was wearing jeans so that skews it, but dang, I'm depressed. BUT, I have to keep on keeping on and get back to the exercise part of this journey. I got my 30 minutes in today and will go back tomorrow and Friday. Onward and downward!! I get a fill on Dec. 13 and that should get me through the winter.

Off to clean the kitchen and get ready for the day. Flute rehearsal at 3 and choir at 5:30, then dinner out after. Everyone make it a good one!

OMG!!!

I haven't been opening my bank statements, and just sort of glancing at them online. BIG MISTAKE!!!!

I have spent the last hour on the phone with a lady at the bank, and I have to leave so that leaves me another day to finish the problem!! Oh my gosh the money......... Sometimes it just seems like I work my ass off for nothing.

Oh, and I woke up with another headache! Yippee!!

Judy, you are being very good about taking control of the problem, my hats off to you!!!

Everyone else seems like they have things going great for them. Haydee I do kind of agree about the pink.

Michelle, you are a great mom and with Evan-a happy birthday to him!!!

Off to the yucky doc and then to work..........

Good morn, girlies,

I hope you get all that straightened out, Janie.

Love your attitude & determination, Judy! I'm gonna get me some of that... on Monday!

Down 7 already Pam! Huzzah!

Laura, I keep thinking about doughnuts! Thanks.

It's another soccer weekend for us. Heading to Raleigh, NC, today. Will check in from the road...

Everyone make it a great day! -- & weekend!

Good morning, Violets..

A chilly, dreary day today. I have a staff meeting this morning... first one with the new pastor and I'm looking forward to it. He is definitely a breath of fresh air and as they say in the Matrix.. "He's the one".

After that I'll come home, change and head to Curves for my first real workout. Then nothing for the rest of the day until we take the new pastor and his wife out to dinner tonight. Should be very interesting.

Oh... we are going to book a condo in Florida for a week in June just to "test the waters" to see if we might like to spend a month there during the worst time of winter here. We are looking at a place in St. Petersburg since we have some friends in that area.

Off to get some Breakfast and get ready for the day. Everyone make it a good one!

Janie.. hope you get everything straightened out at the bank today. I know how frustrating that can be! Now if we could just find the Bobster's missing checkbook, I'll breathe easier today.

Michelle... you don't look any older today after Evan's B'day. However do you do it??:blushing:

Morning girls~

Well, down 8 oz! I weighed before "shadobie" so it could be less...haha! I feel skinny or is it malnourished. Actually since Tuesday, this has not been bad. I even eat w/ my friends...well, I drink and they eat. I caught myself looking at Kristen's sandwhich (lightly toasted bread, lettus, Tomato and turkey sand)...couldn't look away...haha!

Getting my "do" done today, can't believe all these gray hairs along my temples and front hair line!

Then tomorrow after work I go to the hospital for pre auth, pay 1k, and blood work. NO TURNING BACK!

Judy, enjoy Curves! It can be a good workout!

Michelle, have fun in Raliegh! I love NC. We were supposed to go there this summer and place my dad's headstone but it is too much $ for all of us...so we are renting a cabin in Tahoe for a few days! I think we are going to spread his ashes. If stepmom is ready. Can't believe he died 2 years ago on Sunday! SSSUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKSSSSS! I miss him everyday!

Ok...off to get my mojo working!

pop in later!

xooxxo

I saw your FB about Curves Judy lol. They're re-teaching you! We could all use the kick in the butt. A friend of ours is doing Zumba and every day she is Fb'ing about how much she loves it (she's in Nashville, so not local). I didn't know Curves had Zumba? I may look into Zumba post-Brody.

food PORN ALERT!!

My gal pal I go to lunch with every week was telling me about some truffle recipe she made at home and how wonderful they were. She said you bake a cake, crumble it with a tub of icing, roll em up, get em cold then dip in chocolate. After googling, it sounds like the cake pops Haydee told us about (omg yum). So I've decided for Thanksgiving I'm going to make a couple different kinds. I'm for sure doing pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese icing, dipped in white chocolate. Russell <3's heath bars, and he's been on a diet (did I tell ya'll that?? He's low-calorie dieting). He's lost 20lbs in like a month, men suck.. and he complains 20lb in a month isn't a lot. ANYWAY. So I thought I'd do a treat and I'm going to do heath bar crumbles on the outside of one.. dipped in milk chocolate first, but can't decide on what the cake/icing should be on the inside. French vanilla cake and what frosting?? I'm glad Thanksgiving is coming up and I have a reason to make these. I know if I made them for no reason I'd eat the whole damn thing.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
