Morning girls~

Well I've lost 4 lbs in 24 hours...haha! I pee'd all night, liquids in...liquids out I guess!

Today is church, church mtg, then chillaxing. I am enjoying The Corrections...it is very wordy (he is a wordy guy), but when I really get into it...it is enjoyable. I am utilizing the text to speech function and ready while Susanne is watching tv.

Have a good day. I hope day two is easier than day one. It is probably harder now that I have no fill. I had 750 cal all day yesterday...need to get used to it. Next Sat and Sun is Clear Liquids ONLY! Then the fun bowel prep Sunday afternoon! Last time I lost tons on that...hoping for the same!

Have a great day!

xoxo

WELCOME BACK JUDY! Sorry about all the loss while you were away.

On the good side, I weighed myself after church (just to see) and I am now down to 267.4! haha all Water, but I'll take it!

Where the hell is everyone? Kidding...have a great Sunday!

This is a short week for me. DS's 16th birthday is on Weds, then Thurs @ Noon we all leave for Raleigh, NC, for another big soccer tourny. Ds's team won all 3 this weekend, ALL shut-outs! Yay!

You're doing great, Pam... hang in there! Goulash = nom nom!

Good evening, Violets..

It was such a great vacation, but it's nice to be home. I was soooo tired today. I laid down for a nap after church, but I couldn't sleep well, probably too tired. Bob and I went out and got some new suitcases for our next trip.. the cruise at the end of January.

I am downloading the pics of the trip on Facebook right now. Over 200 pics and of course I have to label each one.

PamELa.. you are heading out on a new journey. I'm so excited for you!! And none of us is a failure at the band.. we just haven't finished the journey yet. The band is still there. I loved my walks on the beach every day and miss them. I'm going to have to go to the walking path at the Rec. center here to get some more walking in until I start Curves the end of this week. I am looking forward to being back there and getting some regular exercise again. The knee is doing very well. It's just my back that complains and I know it's because of my belly fat. Gotta work on that before we go cruising.

Tomorrow is a laundry day and volunteer shift at the hospital. I switched my fill appointment to Dec. 13..just couldn't imagine 8 more hours of driving right away. Grady comes in the evening so Kris can do just one hour of Zumba instead of two. She is starting to feel tired, so that's a good sign. I am sooooooo hoping for a little girl to spoil. Nathan wants to know ahead of time, Kris doesn't, but I sure do!! I hope he and I can find out and keep the secret.

Off to finish up the pictures and then watch Desparate Housewives before heading to bed. Everyone sleep well!!

Hey girls~

Did I miss something about Jane? Where the hell has she been? Janie, hope all is ok!

Judy, welcome home! Glad you enjoyed yourself, and I agree...there are many blessing from the band. THE VIOLETS are my fav #1 band gift.

So I caved today! I ate 2 small pieces of meat today (about 1oz). I AM ONLY HUMAN...and the smells actually made me starving more. So I ate the small meats, and skipped the shake (each shake is 140 cal...and regretted it. I'd feel "fuller" from the shake. I actually called the surgeon on his cell today and asked about tylenol. I have a bitch of a headache and it helped a bit...not fixed it, but made it better.

I am really feeling the lack of energy today. I was helping Sus make the bed (stop laughing...I was) and could barely lift my arms. I am noticing I am very distracted and can't think straight either. Should be an interesting week at work.

OK...gonna go see if the pix are up...have a great night!

Janie, come out come out where ever you are!

Haydee, I saw today I missed your call yesterday...is everything ok?

Laura, what is up chicky...

Pam making the bed?? You must be feeling disoriented, girlie!

Seriously tho, it's good that you're aware of yourself & perhaps a good strategy is to just plan to do the bare minimum (ha!, I know) this week... be kind & gentle w/yourself & others... and when the going gets rough, daydream about Pam T'giving 2011!!

When the boys got home from soccer last night, I discovered that they've invited folks here to a football [artu tpmogjt fpr tje Eag;es v/ Redskins game -- ok, that is what I really wrote! Let me try again... a foodball party tonight for the Eagles v. Redskins game. A family of friends + ds's gfriend and her dad, + us. Surprise, Mom! I'm going to do all appetizers... buffalo chix dip w/French bread, 7-layer dip & chips, veggies & dip, + choc fondue w/all the fixins... figure it's easier than cooking a bunch...

We never know that the day brings, huh?

I'm off to volunteer @ the MS... everyone make it a great day!!

Morning girls~

I took one tylenol pm last night at 7 and was in snooze-ville by 7:30. I just can't deal w/ the headaches, and I haven't even stopped caffeine. I won't belly ache too much for you...but the SUCK FACTOR this time is off the hook. I need to review our first thread about how we all made it through the liquids. I know there were a ton of us doing it at the same time.

After work, I need to take my $$ to the surgeons office. Cleaned out my accounts, leaving 100 buckeroos in two checking and a savings...haha! More will appear in a month!

I am not myself and feel weird, soooo maybe I'll have good stories today. I know I am not going to battle the kids today. I have one group (for 3 periods) that make me work sooo hard. The management factor is intense, and if I blink, they are off task. I think they might be off task a bit this week...I can't control them with this level of energy. haha

have agreat day!

where is Jane?

Oh pam, I really hope things get better for you. I honestly remember sleeping alot when I was doing liquids. It was really the only way for me to cope. just keep your goal in sight at all times.

Judy! Glad youre back. I love vacation too but like you am always so happy to be home. Ill have to get on face and look at all your pics...

Michelle, poor mom! We would always do stuff like that to my poor mother. I remember one time I volunteered her to make vests for the whole 5th graders for our holiday show. And then completely forgot to tell her until about a week before the show. Ahh she wasnt too happy with me.

My weekend was great. juan painted half the nursery. Im not 100% percent happy on the shade of pink we ended up with but we've gone through 6 samples and he was getting pretty frustrated with me. I asked my mom and sisters and they liked it so maybe its just me. Oh and we did end up buying her bedding online. I was making myself crazy with the fabric and juan just said enough was enough. So we sat down and found one that I love love love and so we bought it. Why didnt I do this from the get go?

Here I am, I had a crazy busy weekend with work, add on top of that I couldn't sleep Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, had a really bad headache, so never logged on to computer. It was a weird weekend, glad it is over. Slept late and well last night and this morning!!

I am sorry to hear of all the deaths at your church Judy. We have had a BUNCH at our church this past week. Nobody that I was close with like you Judy. I just need to send out one sympathy card.

Pamela, I didn't have to do a liquid before my surgery. Just had to lose a bit of weight. No colon cleanse either!?! That does not sound fun. Is it like a prep for a colonoscopy?

Sounds like Michelle you are in for a fun week!!! How is your and Evans leg?

Haydee and Laura, hello!! Hope you had a great weekend!!!

Off to check out pic on facebook!!

Haydee, you know I painted my bathroom a color and wasn't totally happy with it, so I went to the store and bought some white paint, glaze and mixed that with some Water, then sponged it on over the color and it really helped. Doesn't look sponged and it was fast. I diluted the paint enough that it just sort of mellowed the paint out a bit. But I am sure you could add a bit of whatever color pigment you think you need.

Good afternoon, Violets..

Ok.. so I got on the scale this morning and saw a number that was #'s away from a number I never, ever want to see again. Soooooooo I am going public and pledging to myself and my Violets that I will write down everything I eat, weigh each morning and start Curves on Wednesday. All the walking on the beach could not overcome the food "porn" I inhaled this past week. I am looking at clothes right now that were comfortable on me last winter, but are snug now. That is NOT good and the band is not to blame. It's all me and what I convince myself is ok to do.

I have made my pledge. You are all witnesses.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
