Concerned
Hi I was not tight until after my third fill. Enjoy this time learning what and how to eat. This is the time to start cutting back on amounts and going slow. I could eat any and everything for the longest time. I still lost weight but when I cut back I lost more weight. I have wonderful memories of when I could eat a lot more than I can NOW. So follow the rules and take care of yourself. It is a Happy, Healthy Journey we are on. Best wishes. I have been banded since last week in June and as of five weeks ago I had lost 68 pounds. I will see my NP on Monday and weigh in again. I am really excited to find out just how much more I have lost. I do not own a scale. But I think about it every minute of every day. I will not get another fill this would have been for my fifth but I did not take the fourth and I will not take this one either. I would not call it a "sweet spot" because I can hardly eat anything. When I do it takes me over an hour to eat. So there is absolutely nothing sweet about it. Dinning out is the worst, because everyone eats so fast and people always notice I have not eaten that much and am so slow they are on dessert and I have finished my third bite. I do not enjoy going out to dinner any more because if I eat too fast it will come up or back I am not able to burp. So I would say practice healthy eating habits because this is what the band wants and I have had to learn how to play with my band. NICELY LOL..imaluckydog

All of this info is all true and all info is from experience. It is up to you to make the best choices for you and your band journey. I am always trying to get all the protein I can get in me. I have had hair loss but not that much. Even if I drink a glass of milk before I go to bed it helps. I wake up with a smile and go to bed with a smile on my face. I am working the best I can with my band. I try to Stay positive and blogging is more fun than I ever though it would be. I do not snack at my computer so I keep my paws out of the cookie jar when I am blogging. Best wishes to you on your journey. imaluckydog

LapBand Seminar
Best wishes to all with this issue men and women as my husband suffered with me the entire way. Been there done both! Took us seven years and well worth all the efforts. At the seventh year we said let's just forget about it and we took a long awaited vacation to San Francisco. I believe in Miracles! One Boy, One Girl Irish twins. They are in college now. I was also told I would never have children. LOL.. So believe in Miracles..... I was banded on June 29 and that was the next best miracle in my life. I have a lot to be grateful for. Best wishes for a Happy Healthy Holiday season to all. imaluckydog

Christmas Blues or Good News?
Hi, I hope your weight goal comes true. I was banded in June on the 29. One month before you and I feel great most of the time. I go in to NP on this Monday Dec 21. I am sure I will not get another fill. I stopped getting fills after 3 of them. I have found I am way tight enough. Most days I can just eat enough to keep myself alive. I find most of the time I am eating protein and steamed veggies. I do not enjoy pasta or bread that much anymore. That is probably a good thing. I am going to a few Holiday parties and I pray I make the Best Choices I am able. It can get ugly if you know what I mean when I make the wrong ones. I just had a funny experience. Had to toss all of my underwear away. My husband just said go buy some that fit you. I just never thought much about it and I was wearing panties that were 5 sizes to big for me. LOL This journey has been so amazing I must say. At my last weigh in I had lost 68 pounds. That was over a month ago. Where does the time go. I do not own a scale so I am so excited to see how much more I have lost. I have been fighting off the blues for weeks now I think it has something to do with the fact I cannot eat like I used too and I sooooo miss a good chow down. I am just trying to keep the spirit of the Holiday's and stay as positive as I can. Thanks I enjoyed reading your blog. Have a great day. Best wishes imaluckydog

*^#@! HAir Loss!!
I lost hair for just about three weeks as well. It has stopped now that goodness I have started taking something called Biotin. I am not sure that is what helped but I have not lost any more. I noticed it the most about the third month after surgery. I think it also has something to do with the surgery itself. The changes the body has gone thru. Anyway it does slow down at least it did for me. You are not alone on this one. Hang in and Best wishes. imaluckydog who is just hanging on these days. I do not seem to have as much energy as I use to. I am looking forward to seeing the nurse next week.

12/14/09 Christmas Cards
Thank goodness you can write about it!!! Makes it so much more fun to read about. I just love you.... I know what it is like having children taking exams my two have one on Friday as well and it may be over at the same time or later. I think it is crazy. They have to ask to stay another day in the dorms so they can drive 4 hours home in the day light. Pay all this money for less actual school time and way late exams. Go figure.... I can't wait to see them. Thanks for sharing Best wishes imaluckydog who is hanging in there barely.

My Story
Hi, I was banded June 29 so we are June buddies together. I have had three fills so far and I am as full as I ever want to be EVER. I am due back at the Dr.'s on Dec 21, I will not take another fill as it is so hard to eat and it takes me about 1/2 hour to eat all the food I need to eat. I have to eat really slowly so I do not PB. I hate that part. So I go slow and steady and some how get it all in. I really miss eating a ton of food when I sit with my family and everyone is chow'n down. I find myself cutting my food into smaller and smaller pieces and playing with my food more. It helps to pass the time in between bites. At around the three month mark I felt I had lost a lot of hair as well. It has slowed down the hair lose that is. Getting in protein is what helps I think. The last time I got weighed I had lost 68 pounds so I hope I have lost some more when I go back. Best wishes and I'd like to hear from you again. imaluckydog

why did i get the lap band
If you have not been banded that long just hang in it will get better. I felt just like you the first to third week after being banded. I was a little depressed. We have chosen to help make our lives healthier. I am an example that it does work. 5 months, feel great, Look great, Happy and I have a LIFE now. It will happen for you Best Wishes and try to work with your band. If you still feel the same way go back to you Dr. they will help you I did. Have a Happy Day. imaluckydog Ps not to mention I have lost over 68 pounds LOL

Old Pictures...
You have a great attitude and this band will make it so much easier for you. I find it very hard to believe I have been banded since June 29 five months and I know I have lost 68+ pounds. I get weighed on Dec 21 and I am so excited about that I can't wait. I feel like a little kid. I do not own a scale as I would sleep on it. I have to wait until I go back to the Dr.'s office. I have to wear sweaters all the time now because I am cold because I have not much insulation any more. I never ever got cold before. I have not set any goals I am excited to see what ever happens to me. So far my body has changes 4 to 5 sizes down and I look so different. I feel different. I am alive and living from experience to experience not food stop to food stop or drive thru. I am full most of the time and that's a good thing. I quit smoking and that was so hard to do it makes this a piece of CAKE..... Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

Getting 2nd Fill today....
My fills always hit me about 4 to 5 days later. I would be eating normally and all of a sudden Oppps... I could not take another bite. I must say that I felt most full after the fifth day. I have had three fills and I am max'd out so to speak. Tight as all I want to be for now. I did not take my fourth fill four weeks ago and I will not take another one on Dec 21 when I go back to get weighed. I think I am at that sweet spot I have heard mention on these pages. It was rough going for a while. It takes me a lot longer to eat and I chew chew chew to beat the band. I never drink with my meals ever. That was one of the hardest things for me not to do. I always thought the liquid was to wash the food down. Now they want the food to stay in your small pouch longer and go into the larger pouch slowly. That means I am not as hungry as often and it works. I love my band and feel great today. I am excited to get on a scale to see how much more I have lost. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

It's been a long time....
Girlfriend you can do this. So we all take little breaks. Just do what you know you have to do to get to where YOU want to be. I have had three fills and I have never been so tight in my life. I was supposed to get another, fourth fill and I did not take it. I've got to go back on Dec. 21 and it is unlikely I will get another fill. I know I am losing and for this I am grateful. I am working with my band because some days I am more tight than others and somedays I can eat a ton and others hardly anything at all. Lets Live it together. imaluckydog and I want to lose 100 pounds too Best wishes.

I'm HONGREEEEEEEEEE
GNC a health food and vitamin store sells protein powders and so does supermarkets just ask for them in the health and diet sections of the store. Good luck. imaluckydog

It's been a long time....
You do not have as far to go as I do. Take it in stride. Be positive and kind to yourself. Make the band work for you. Switch up that exercise and have fun doing it. Change the food plan many of us get in a rut. If you have been banded the band does not forget how to work so work with it and shake it up. Try to Live it not Diet.. Does that make sense? I hope so, I have been banded for 5 months but I have changed and it is the reason for my change. 68 pounds in 5 months. So you can do this. So Get Crackin! Best Wishes imaluckydog

2 months posts op
Just hang in there. I did not notice my self getting smaller for the longest time. Then one day you wake up and feel your body you know around your sides and you feel smaller. Run to a mirror and check and sure enough its gone. I have lost 68 pounds and it has been 5 months. First of all it does not seem that long ago and I look so different people stop me dead in my tracks and ask if I have been sick I have lost so much weight! I laugh and say I'm on a Live It not a Diet!!!!! Sounds like you are on the right path so keep it up and Best Wishes to you on your LB journey. imaluckydog

Monday is the big day
Good Luck you will be fine. Just stay focused on what you have to do before Monday as it will be here before you know it. I was also banded on a Monday. I have never had a case of the "Mundaies" like in Office space ever again. Take time to heal and follow the rules. I have been banded now for 5 months and I always think about that special day a rebirth if you will. I ended up going early a month early and taking someone else's spot that could not keep their appointment. It was the BEST Monday of my life. I only had to do liquid for one day and I did not get my band until 6 PM That Monday night! Yes, it was a very long day and I could not eat anything. Then it was like I was full everyday there after. I have had 3 fills now and I am still full. Best wishes and keep us posted all will go well. imaluckydog

Can someone tell me what is going on!!
Enjoy it for the time being. I have had my third fill and I am as tight as I ever want to be. No kidding I was supposed to get a fourth fill five weeks ago. I refused it. I just got weighed and we talked made another apt. for Dec 21, and at this rate I will likely NOT get another fill. Everyone is different. After the third fill the tightness did not kick in for about 4 to 5 days after the fill. I miss the days I could eat more. So enjoy it. Be happy where you are. I am SNUG enough. Losing well but I do not eat all that much any more. Best Wishes. imaluckydog

breaking the habit
Keep blogging that is what has helped me the most. I do not eat at the computer. Head games are hard for sure but you can be a winner. Make an effort to just re focus on something else you like to do read someone else's blog and share your feelings with them. I just try to keep myself as busy as I can. I also use smaller plates I can't eat much at all it is so sad. I was sad about that for a while and then I started living my life NOT thinking about the food. We can do this together. Best wishes imaluckydog

Day 15
This journey has been amazing that is for sure!! I just love the taste of food. I also feel I wish I had done this years ago. But better late than never is my thoughts on the matter. I have been banded 5 months now and have lost 68 pounds I never did that on any other wt. loss plan. It has not been as hard as some other diets either. I eat my protein first and I always try to pick foods that will taste GOOD. Because I can not eat all that much. I call it my tiny tank syndrome. Lots of smiles and Best wishes I am off the the store to buy some Greek yogurt. imaluckydog

Grocery list
High protein foods, greek yogurt, milk, hard and soft cheeses, eggs, beans, ground meats beef, chicken, turkey and fish is something I eat almost every day. I do keep some protein drinks if I need them but I very rarely need them. I make a lot of my own main dish meals and freeze them in small portions. I was going to try a crock pot meal this week end some looked real good. Hope this helped? I have been banded 5 months now and have lost 68 pounds following the rules. Best wishes imaluckydog
