I had thought about WLS for 2 years before I started the process last November.  During those 2 years I had put on about 40 lbs.  I knew if I didn't do something, nothing would change.  I was only 46 and had a lot of life left in me.  I chose Lap Band because it was less invasive, could be reversed, had less complications and malabsorbtion wasn't an issure because my intestines were not going to be rerouted.  Much less chance of dumping syndrome.  I just felt it was the choice for me.  And I have not regreted it. I think the bypass is still the most desired, but I think that will change in time.    I am  3 days post op today and I am feeling well.  Still sore, but it gets better day by day.  I am doing ok with the liquids right now.  I start pureed food tomorrow.  When things get rough, and I know they will, I just have to remember that I am doing this for my health and to live a more productive quality of life.
