Hey guys!!

It's been a while since I've posted anything or even really been on here....life has been busy and so much is going on! Acid Reflux!

OMG....here lately I've had the worse "acid taste" in the back of my throat....and it's even woken me up at night and I'll have to get up, eat a few tums and go back to bed. Right now I'm having a really bad fit with it. Is anyone esle suffering? What are you taking or doing that helps?

Haven't posted in a while...

Well I've been banded now for almost 10 months...WOW has the time gone by fast. I'm down about 43 pounds and even though it's coming off slow...I'm still happy that it's coming off. I go back Thursday for a follow up apt. I had gotten a 1/2 cc fill a little over a month ago which put me at 6.5 cc's. It's tight but I haven't decided if I want him to take it back out or not. I've lost 8 lbs since the fill and was averaging about 5 a month before that. So I may keep it right where it's at for

Why do people....

Why do people feel the need to tell others how they should live their lives?? That really bugs me. YES I knew going into this life changing event that I would have to change my eating habits, start exercising more often and so forth. I don't know about everyone else but if I could have controlled myself around food I would never have had this surgery. So YES...I still eat badly at times, who are you to tell me that I'm a bad person for that? Changing a habit that you've had for so many year

WOW...that's tight!

Ok so last Thursday I went back to the doctor and got a 1/2cc fill which put me at 6 1/5 cc's total.....WOW, can you say tight!!! I can't hardly eat anything now and am throwing up a lot. I guess I am just going to have to live off of mostly liquids for a while. It takes me forever just to drink a protein shake now. Not to mention that I can't even chug my water. But I am going to live with it for now...although it's very frustrating at times because I would like to be able to eat some solid

Could this be....

Well I had my 4th fill this past Thursday and my doctor gave me a 1/2 cc which puts me now at 6.5cc's....Could this finally be my sweet spot?? I couldn't hardly eat anything Saturday and Sunday and threw up a lot....but I'm hoping that it get's better. I would really like this to be my "sweet spot". Week 1 down....

So if any of you have been reading my other blogs you'll know that I started the "Couch to 5k" program a week ago and finished up my first week this morning....I'm waiting on it to get easier...but I know it will take some time. I'm still not able to jog all 100% of the program but am still proud of myself for what I am able to do. Day 2 of "couch to 5K"....

So yesterday morning (I had the day off from work)..I had set my alarm for 6am to get up and go to the gym and then do my second day of "couch to 5k". Well the alarm went off and I hit SNOOZE!! But I did wake up at 7 and decided that I would go to the track and do my jogging...(didn't have time for the gym because I was going out with my mom that morning as well)....so I got up and got dressed, grabbed my IPOD and timing watch and was on my way. The other day I blogged about how aggravated I was that my doctors office had scheduled me for an apt. only to go there and find that he wasn't in. So I wasn't able to get a fill and had been really anxious to do so. But I had decided that I wasn't going to rely on just a "fill" alone and that I was going to take more control of my body and what I put into it and exercise more. I'd been revving up my exercise for the past several weeks and decided to start a new program called "Couch to 5K"..

Supposed to have a fill yesterday....BUT

I met with my doctor a little over a month ago and ended up not getting a fill...he wanted me to see the nutritionist and then come back (my weight loss has been very slow so he wanted me to meet with her so we can figure out how I can eat better)...so my apt. was on April 8th at 8am..but I never had a chance to go see the nutritionist becuase of my work schedule...I had to beg to have someone cover my shift just to be able to go to my apt. yesterday morning. Would like some advice....

I was banded on Sept. 18th 2009 and I've only lost 30 lbs since then....It's coming off very slow...but that is also my fault as well. I've only recently starting exercising on a regular basis....and I've eaten a lot of foods that I know I should stay away from...(old habits die hard)!!! So I'm asking for advice from you guys....what has been the best thing that you've done to help you lose the weight quicker....is it Restricting Calories, Carbs, lot's of exercise and water, lot's of protien..

When I had my 2nd fill I would get that "full" feeling....now that I've had my 3rd fill I don't really get that full feeling but rather the feeling that "nothing else will go down my throat" because I feel it building up and I know that if I keep eating, it's gonna come back up. Got third fill today!

I went for my third fill today and am now up to 6 CC's. I was at 5 before and still didn't feel too restricted so I had him make it just a tad tighter today....so I'm hoping that tomorrow (after my 24hr liquid's) that I will really be able to tell a BIG difference. All together I've lost a total of 22 pounds since September...but was happy that I'd lost weight over Christmas, I honestly thought that I was going to either stay the same or even gain a couple pounds because I wasn't exactly "beha

Getting 2nd Fill today....

I'm excited but a little nervous...I swear I don't think he even put hardly any in the first time...I've still been able to eat the same. So hopefully he'll crank it up this time. lol I haven't lost anymore so I'm looking forward to doing that...obviously! I was wondering though....how are you guys doing things....are you measuring your food? Exercising a lot? What are your secrets? Thanks for any tips you can give me. Just got band filled....I'm frustrated and have questions

I just got my first fill on Wednesday but still don't really feel restricted to how much I can eat. He told me that if I didn't lose at least 4 lbs this month to come back for another fill. How has everyone else done after their first fill? Did you feel restricted right away or does it take a few times getting a fill? I am so frustrated because I thought that after I got my fill, I'd really start to feel like I'd start losing weight. Need suggestions, comments please!!!

Finally filled today!!!

I finally got my band filled today and am soooo excited to start losing weight. I'd been maintaining my weight since surgery but not losing anymore. The only thing that sucks is that I'm on liquids for 24 hours. Oh well, it will be worth it. And to beat all, here I was sooo worked up and nervous about getting my fill and turns out, it was nothing. It was super quick and no more painful than getting blood taken. So for those of you that haven't gotten a fill...don't worry, it's nothing! Go

My fill was postponed....

I was supposed to get my band filled for the first time last Thursday but then I got a call that the Dr's wife had went into labor and I had to reschedule for this Wendesday. Not that I'm not happy for my Dr and his wife, but boy was I disappointed...I had been looking forward to the fill for 6 weeks. But here I am...and I'll get my fill tomorrow. I'm nervous but excited. 1st Fill Today

Well I've waited 6 weeks for today....I'm getting my band filled for the first time since surgery. I'm excited but nervous because I don't know what to expect. But I am definitely looking forward to losing more weight. :crying:

3 weeks until 1st fill....excited!

It has been 3 weeks since surgery and I have another 3 weeks until I get my first fill. I've lost 16 pounds total, which includes the weight I lost on my liquid diet. I am ready to get my first fill so I can see some "real" weight loss. I can still pretty much eat what I want, but I do get fuller faster and have been trying to watch what I eat but it's still hard at times. I think the whole "not drinking while eating" is a big one for me. I have taken sips but just need to cut it out period. I l

New Surgery ?? Help!

I had surgery on 9/18 and am recovering pretty well. I had been pretty sore on the right side where the port is, but now I'm really sore and tender on my left side (right above my incision). I was just wondering if anyone else is or has experienced pain and tenderness there as well.
