New Surgery ?? Help!

I had surgery on 9/18 and am recovering pretty well. I had been pretty sore on the right side where the port is, but now I'm really sore and tender on my left side (right above my incision). I was just wondering if anyone else is or has experienced pain and tenderness there as well.

Hey congrats on your surgery. I had my band placed on May 28th of this year. I am doing well, healed well and am very healthy and my port sight is still very tender to the touch and even sticks out a little. There are times when I will get a sharp pain in that area, I just think where they attach the port it is kinda indefinately sensitive, if the pain gets real bad I wouldnt be worried, if in doubt, call your doctors office, this will be a life long journey and you need to develop a relationship with them there and feel comfortable asking questions. Good luck and God bless.

Hi. I had my band placed the same time as you (9/22). I too had tenderness and was worried about it recently so called in for a wound check.

They asked my if the wound area was warm/hot to touch which is a sign of infection.

Mine was just sore from sitting more than usual (and putting pressure on my belly botton where the incision is).

I think that if you are unsure, it never hurts to call your doctor or even your GP.

Good luck!

I had my band placed on 9/11 and I have found that anytime I wear pants that rub on the port area I get sore. I have found that if I am going to wear pants that hit right in that spot that it works better if I put padding around the port area to help it be more cushioned. Mine has gotten less sore but it is still the spot that hurt the most.
