  1. Started by angel96049,

I am 3 days into my pre-op diet and it is rough!! I have no problem with the cutback on food, but I'm am having trouble choking down the Protein shakes! The smell, and taste are horrible...and when I finally do get one down, it feels like it's going to come back up for the next few hours(which is unfortunate because I spent over 200$ on fusion protein powder)! I have tried it with crystal light, Water, and milk but nothing works. I am worried that if I am having this much trouble before surgery how is it going to be after? Why can't they just make a protein pill!! There has to be an easier way, I could really use some advice or ideas!! Oh yeah, and I have bee…

I am in day 12 of my 14 day pre-op diet. I have lost 12#. But I still do the "yo-yo" one day good, then the next not so good. That goes for exercising this last week as well. By exercising, it is suppose to help strengthen my lungs and heart for surgery, also help with leg circulation to prevent blood clots after surgery. I know one of the main reasons for the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver to help the surgeon perform the procedure better. But really, how important is the pre-op diet overall? I mean in all reality, how much does it really help?

So, what I was looking for was to see what others were eating so I could get ideas of what was Kosher, but it seems like everyone's diet is different... so I determined that my best bet to help someone else is to log what I ate. So the next person looking for this info can hopefully benefit from my struggles... So this is what I did/am doing.... I started 2 week diet 1 week early. I figured the first week I could see what I liked, get my cheating out of the way and be able to get into a rhythm.... I am done with my first week... I didn't log what I ate: but here is a breakdown... Tuesday - Day 1: 8am: Carnation Instant Breakfast with low fat milk 10am: Trim …

I'm starving! It seemed ok until this afternoon. I had to run into the mall to pick up a gift and the smell of Aunt Annie's pretzels was almost more than I could stand. :svengo:I don't really even like pretzels. OK, just had to whine. Thanks for listening.

  5. Started by ash,

So, I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I don't go to my nutritional class until Wednesday, so I'm hoping I can get by on my own for a day. I was told on the phone today that it had to be sugar-free and low-fat liquids. When I met with the nutritionist during my consult, she mentioned it could be things like cream of chicken Soup, etc. I'm a little nervous about these next two weeks. Did anyone here have to follow a similar pre-op diet? Nothing has been mentioned yet about Protein, but I'm sure I won't be able to do without it. I didn't buy any Protein shakes tonight because I couldn't find sugar free stuff. I read about something called powders?utm_source=Bariatric…
