SOON2BLITTLE THAT IS GREAT!!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: So have you lost that just since being banded? I can't wait till I see 82 pounds lost. You should treat yourself to something for all the hard work.

So my 6 month band date is the 24 of November so I have four days to lose some more weight.I have only lost 50 since being banded I had hoped it would be at least 60 but I am still happy and proud of myself. I would like to lose 4 pounds by monday.

I have been going to the gym in the morning for an hour doing cardio and at night I walk on treadmill for 4 1/2 miles.I am starting to really notice inches falling off me and it makes me feel so good. I am doing weight watchers along the way to help me lose weight. My goal in the end is to maintain my weight loss with exersice and just using the band. But I need ww to help me get to my goal.

SO HOW ARE ALL YOU NOVEMBER BANDSTERS DOING?????? I hope your doing great. would love to here from you and see how your doing. it motivates me more to hear how others are doing. Have a great day everyone!!!:biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::drool::biggrin::drool::biggrin::w00t::biggrin::w00t::biggrin::lol::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

I am doing great! I still have to pinch myself to make sure this isn't a dream!! My band date was 11/23/9 and I am down 85 lbs. As I said I still can't beleive it. For the first time that I can remember I actually got into a disagreement with a doctor as to how much I should weigh. I want to lose 41 more lbs and the dr said I should only lose 17-21 more lbs. in the end he finally agreed with me but as long as I promise to lose no more than 41 lbs. Don't think I have ever had that conversation before?? Life is great but could never do this without the band, positive engery and support!! Hope everyone is well!!

Yay!! I am down 80lbs!!! Woo Hoo! I definitely can eat more than I should and probably need a fill. But I am trying not to become so dependent on the restriction. I have been doing pretty well without an adjustment lately. I have an appt on June 9th and will decide then if I will get a fill. Working out at least 4 times per week has really kept me on point. My boyfriend and I have tried cooking with no salt for two weeks and it has done wonders! It helped me break a plateau. Down to 236lbs and trying to get to 230 before my cruise on June 13th. Thank God my mother is gonna be my gym partner on the cruise. Not trying to fall off the wagon just because I am on a floating restaurant LOL!! I hope everyone is doing well and continues to stay motivated. Good Luck everyone!

Hello guys---

Not a good post here from me but it's the truth and I need HELP.

I feel like a FAILURE in my weight-loss journey.

I've only lost 35 since my surgery 11/12/09. I am dealing with so many things and I really am struggling. I kinda lost my motivation and I am very depressed with my failure. I had 3 fills, and I keep postponing my fill appt's- I should have had 5 by now. I only have 3cc's in my band right now.

I don't exercise like I should- I drink ALL the time with my meals. What is WRONG with me!? I am not doing this on purpose to myself but I just can't seem to get OUT of this FUNK and get going with my journey. I feel that I do have food addiction problem, and I really am stuck in this funk- I was so excited for my lapband and now I am regretting it- I know it's ME that has to WORK it and make it work... I just CANT find the motivation and am screaming to get it back.

Any one of you going through this? How do you PUSH yourself to do better?

I am very jealous of all of your successions, BUT i am very proud of y'all! KEEP it up, please don't be like me! <3

I'm going through the same thing! I've been losing so slow and I workout 6 days a week. I just tell myself that the weight is going to come off. Why have you postponed your fill appts? I have had 2 fills and have 5.2 cc's in my band I go for another fill on 6/10. I keep telling myself "I will not fail the band, I deserve to be thin and health!" And the more I tell myself that the more I believe it. I joined Overeaters Anonyomus to help with my mentality, I would find myself snacking and I wasn't even hungry, so I know I have to work on my mind and get support any way I can. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!! You can do it!:Dancing_biggrin:

I was watching losing it with Jillian this week and the father had a bypass and it "failed" daughter had one too and she looked great but she was an enabler to the rest of the family to be obese. She felt un worthy etc and was having a head trip with it all... Jillian really gave her a talking to.

I have so much trouble with the head stuff... I don't like the attention iam getting for looking better etc. I am struggling. We can have this tool but we all need to deal with the head space. I am thinking of going back to counseling.... I just started marriage counseling..I think that that is the major problem I have with my weight. I think the insurance and dr should put more emphasis on therapy to help us be more successful. JMO

Hey! Be pround! You have lost 35 pounds thats AWESOME! You are doing great, do not compare yourself to others. I know how hard that is for sure. I have lost 50 now since surgery and compare myself all the time to someone who had lap band surgery just a month before me and has lost 75, we see each other all the time and lately I have felt like a failure compared to her. But I know I am not a failure, without my band I would have never lost my 50 pounds or kept it off this long. We are doing GREAT! I am very proud of your 35!! Email me if you want and we can chat!

Hello Everyone,

I am doing well. I am so excited to finally be down just about 50lbs. Today, when I got on the scale I had made it to 49lbs. Running has certainly helped quite a bit. Congrats all on your loss. Amazingly, my loss hasn't been very fast but, I am quite contend with the pace. So, if it takes another few months to lose the last 20 or so lbs., then so be it. Wishing you all well.

Brigette

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
