Calling All MARCH '09 Bandsters - We need a name!

Recommended Posts

I hope to get banded March 2nd, I need advice on what pre op shake I should be using.

I have been "practicing" pre-operative diet for over two weeks now. The clinic I attend suggests Carnation Instant Breakfast - sugar free (It's the blue box) 4 a day, at 7 a.m. 12 p.m. 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. With an apple at 10 a.m and Orange at 2 pm and dinner 6-6:30 consisting of 2c. greens and a tomatoe or one cup of veggies and a 4.0z piece of chicken or fish or else 3 0z of other lean meats (no high fat meat at all) as a way to shrink the amount of fat in the liver so that it can be retracted for the banding.

I am finding I am getting used to this decrease in solid foods and the mostly liquid diet. I can hardly wait until I have a band to speed things along, I am hardly losing anything actually.

I'm ready for my date on March 10! March Madness or March Melters works for me. I'm not so keen on Maidens, Hotties, Beauties, or Lovelies, even if I do end up being the only guy!

HaHa, I don't know why I just assumed everyone was female. I'm sorry! I like March Melters...!

March 6th for me! Getting nervous. I don't have a choice on the shakes. Anyone have any idea? I've heard of some poeple blending them with ice or adding instant coffee to make it taste better. It'll be 3 weeks for me starting Friday the 13th - how fitting!

I think my surgery date is going to be in March. I have to find out from my lead when it would be best. I have been waiting for this for a really long time.

I hope I get to be a March Melter!

That's awesome! I don't know about you but I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm making lists and counting down on the calendar and I'm just going kinda crazy. I have to get an endoscopy instead of an upper GI and I just scheduled that for 2/14...what a good way to spend Valentine's Day! Where are you having your surgery at?

I am self paying cause insurance wouldn't approve me as I don't have any co-morbidities. It kinda sucks to have to pay that large amount of money but I know it will be well worth it and I can't wait!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
