Hello,

Heather, have a wonderful time!

I'm sorry that several of you are sick. I hope the sore throats clear up quickly.

I'm still plugging along with my 1200 calories a day. I'm seeing Dr. Baggs for the first time on Friday and want to be at a low weight for the month.

I'm finding it a lot of work to be always mindful that every single thought/decision brings me either closer or further from my goal. I was just driving home from San Jose (work) and had a sudden thought that I could stop at Wing Stop! Where in the world did that come from? I've never in my life been to Wing Stop. Needless to say, I just drove straight through. Wing Stop would not help me accomplish what I want before seeing Dr. Baggs.

I'm anxious, in a good way, to meet him and discuss my surgery options as well as my surgery goal weight etc.

Take care everyone. I may not post very often, but I always read. :)

Breakfast - 1 Atkins shake

lunch - lettace with one can tuna (lemon and olive oil)

snack - 1 Grande Skinny latte

dinner - 5 mini burgers with onions, mustard, and 2 slices red fat cheese. approx 1 cup cabbage. My ex got me a small bag of Pork rinds and I ate those too...sheesh!

You'll make it for March for sure! I have one girlfriend just booked for January 23, so they are booking quite a ways out due to holiday vacations.

Which Kaiser are you going to next Wednesday, Vallejo? I have to go to Richmond that day

Evenin of Anchor Day Everyone!!!

Got my fill on, got my fill on, yes I did! Finally some time to post...I have been MIA since last Wed...Women of Faith volunteer & conference, hung with Sweet T! Church on Sun, and rested up, bit of a cough, then South San Fran for my ckup on Tues, and got a fill! I am now @ 6.5, which I believe is my sweet spot..cause I have kicked the plateau & losing!

Women of Faith was unbelievable, speakers, so funny, laugh til u cry, Mandisa home concert (she has lost 85 lbs!) & Nicole C. Mullen! Quite a time with ladies, and fun to volunteer (& get tickets for free!) I put a few pics in an album with my profile.

Been catching up the reading...hasnt been much talk of getting together this sat/sun...I dont think I should, am making sure I get better, plus looks like storm/rain. Hope u all still do something!

Ok ladies & John, I am cold!!! Been turning up the heating blanket...I must say I would rather layer to keep warm then to be sweatin in the winter...I cant believe how I can wear a few layers of clothes & fit them, not feeling bulky!

How is everyone else doing? Been watching the Biggest Loser, it really is encouraging, so glad Danny C. won, but everyone of the contestants are winners with what they have lost in weight yet gained in health!

I Celebrate my 1 year Bandiversary tomorrow...and am so excited and thankful to the Lord...where I am...half way there and rearing to begin again before 2010!!! :scared2:

P.S. thank you to all our group in here...I celebrate knowing I have the best support right here for another year plus!!!

Happy Bandaversery Donna!! Woohoo! Question- Do you think SSF would let me do a weight check even though I'm a Richmond patient? I'm going to be in SSF all morning tomorrow before our afternoon flight.

If I don't get back on again, Have fun while I'm gone! lol.

PS- Good job Tamra!

Let me just begin by saying my cat has a tumor sticking out of her but and is scheduled for surgery December 22nd. Doesn't cancer ever take a vacation? My poor baby had to get a rectal exam today - how the heck to you explain that to a cat - now she's not speaking to me!

Yeah Donna! Glad you got your fill and are losing again!! Don't think this weekend will work because it will be storming and, I, too have been Freezing lately! Not gonna venture out in the rain.

Riley - I have found my cure for head hunger! Wellbutrin LOL. I've been back on it for a few days now and have not been wanting to eat at all. Feeling any better?

Lee - I bet you'll be banded by march! Good luck with Dr. Baggs.

Minxz - long time no read - love the pic! 50lbs is quite a lot of weight - congrats!

TAMRA - SO PROUD OF YOU MY LITTLE SOLDIER! Keep marching on - you can do it. Don't let the ex get you of track!

John, where are you? How's it going??

Jes - how's that fill working for you? I'm really anxious to hear - so glad Park isn't gonna be doing any of my fills LOL

Ok, so anybody heard from either of the Nicole's?? How bout April?? Ladies, where are you????????

Nicole - I know you're working alot now and don't have time to sit around on the computer but check in would ya!

Nicollie - WTF? You've been MIA - your computer broke? - I know you can post from work cuz you use to post ALL THE TIME so don't even try to lie! I hope you haven't dumped us!

April..... You hoo! Miss you girlie - come back!!

How you feelin Tina?? How's michaela?

Pammie - what's going on sister? How are you? Still not feeling up to par?

Monique - FYI - I could eat a bear too if I could catch one. hahaha - Haven't been feeling much like eating the last couple of days but right before that it was on and crackin!

Reggie - will you cook for me again - or teach me how to cook for myself??? Hope all is well with you and yours!

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
