Thanks everyone! I have one more question; I made Albondigas (mexican meatball soup) made with ground turkey. Do you guys think it will be ok to puree that for dinner. I added rice to the meatballs when I formed them, I know Liz said no rice but is it ok to eat pureed?

Don't know if I'm the news or not but here it is anyway

I got my fill!!!!! yea yea yea. It was sort of an ordeal as she was not able to find my port. I'm scared to take the band aid off cuz I know she must have stuck me 15 times. No joke she was stabbing me for a good 10 min. She kept asking if I was ok even after she was done. I guess my port is under my rib cage...

anyway I had 2cc already and she gave me another 2. I can tell I have restriction I got a starbucks after and it took me until right now to finish it, 7 hrs. I'm on liquids until tomorrow and then mushies.

Robin was a whole nother story...I was selective with what I shared with her. she really didn't offer anything of value to me. I was asking her about head hunger and why I'm hungry and she just told me to move to stage 5, huh? I'm on stage 8 if there is one. I kept saying I can eat anything. Whatever...

I think she does have a say on if you get a fill because when we were done she walked me over to Dr P's office and went inside. Once Dr P came in she said how you doing blah blah and then she said you better stay away from strbucks. I told Robin that I had been going and she gave me a lecture.

any who that's my story...who else has news?

Maria try the split pea with tiny ham bits Soup and those personal hormel chili's are wonderful I'd give it a zap withmy hand blender and then put cheese on top and microwave it.

oh one other thing no worries Candra, I was less than 1 lb less than I was when I went to see her for my 6 weeks. I guess I'll change my ticker cuz I'm a long way away from 172 The crab dinner did me in I guess.

Jes - awesome that you got your fill and can feel it! Interesting advise about Robin; good to know.

Tamara - hang in, don't give up. This isn't a race; its about the rest of our lives and being healthy. You can do it!

Maria - Riley pureed everthing! If it fit in the magic bullet, she says she pureed it - same food as the family ate. The mexican Soup sounds great!

Liz - I love Christmas too! We got all our decorations up (I didn't eat the Cookies when we were decorating the tree - whoo hoo!) and I'm almost done shopping; also had fun buying toys for the little ones. (You should have seen me trying to figure out Transformers - it was on a list from our homeless shelter and my boys are grown so I had no one to ask. Pretty funny - there are a million different kinds!)

Pam and Tina - hope you feel better.

Candra - My doc. started me on Zoloft for anxiety and we just upped the dose. I was on Wellbutrin a number of years ago and it worked well for me then. Hope you got your new prescription.

Hi Reggie! Where is everyone else? Riley? Donna? Nicolie? Annalyn? Nicole? Chris? How is everyone? - let us know.

Howdy howdy! I didn't go to the gym tonight, I planned to but I needed to get my bangs trimmed. Then I went to Walmart where I died a little on the inside. Seriously, wally world was miserable. I had to return 1 item and it was a 20 minute line. Ugh.

I'm getting a pedicure tomorrow, so my toes will be ready for Hawaii. lol. I should go to the gym after that. We'll see how that goes. I'm kinda off-diet again, but I figure I'll just make sensible choices while I'm on vacation and try to go on walks every day. Back from vacation = back on track.

Hello Everyone!

Jes-I am so glad to see you got your fill...Did it hurt??? Was the area completely numb?

Pat-I love Christmas and the decorations too! I am going to have to love the decorations more this year because we don't have money to buy the presents...

Maria-Mexican Soup sounds good to me....Especially in this weather...

Liz-I'm glad you surrounded yourself with love. Kids have a way of doing that to you.

Pam-I'm so sorry you are ill...Try to stay in. The cold snap may make it worse if you go out...

Tina-Wow, 7 miles!!! How old is your daughter?

Question? How long after getting banded did you get your first fill??? I ask because Jes, you are 1 month ahead of me and just recieved your fill. Dr Fisher told me to make my appt for the beginning of February...Why do I have to wait so long? Do you all think I should double check with him? Or do you think I could just make my appt on my own in Jan and act like I forgot what he told me??? I do want to get through the holidays and have my fill around the 2nd week in January not February!!!

Hmm I don't know Monique. According to Dr P my 1st fill was supposed to be 3 months post op ...when I started stage 5. I got it changed to today because she's going on vacation.

Oh and no I didn't feel a thing, the numbing stuff was just like going to the dentist. But, boy does it hurt now. While she was poking she kept having me hold my tummy in and then push it out. I was hoping she wouldn't tell me I couldn't get one for some reason.

Hey Jes, girl...I'm so hungary I could eat a bear!!!! I have been totally out of control. I inhaled an entire garlic crab Saturday night and some garlic shrimp fried rice... I need to re-focus... So much for me losing the 6lbs by my Vegas trip... Oh, it's Thursday. So it's too damn late... Oh, well. I will have a great time with the hubby. It's been a long time since we have gone out of town together.... without the babies...

I will re-focus when I get back. I will not go overboard though. I will be happy with maintaining. Even through the holidays.

Did you call to schedule your appt? Did they schedule it? or Did you just get an appt card in the mail?

Dr Fisher told me to come back in 8-10 weeks (from Nov 23). He also said the calendar did not go out that far... I doubled checked before I left and he was right. I would love to get the fill on Jan 18th, Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday because the holidays will be officially over and because I am off... So much for my thought process...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
