Biggest Loser

I was watching last night and some of those huge men don't weigh as much as me and I don't think I'm bigger than they are. Do you think those weights are right? Ye gads maybe I'm bigger than I think. I looked at by before pictures, front, side and back and I still don't think I'm bigger and I'm only 5'2". I was glad to see the b--ch in pink leave but felt a little sorry for her daughter. Sorry I had to miss Idol to watch it but to lazy to tape it and don't have a tivo.

I'm with you, Karen. I'm not loving this season either. I'm just not as inspired by the teams. Maybe it's because my inspiration is coming from myself and my decision to have the band!! How many hours do you think they work out while they're at "the ranch"? I would venture to say between 6-8 hours a day? YIKES!!

I don't like the show this season either, and I look at what they weigh and I am like what???

I happen to like that the pink mother was trying so hard, she is over 50 and was doing the workouts. I can't stand the orange mother and son combo.

I have been watching also. I am 5'9" and 260. I asked my wife last night if I look like that guy with the big man boobs -black team- he weighed about 260 and she said yes, without the boobs!!!! I don't see myself that way/BIG. SCARY

Last season I spent a lot of time comparing the before and after weights that are like mine. I know everyone looks different, but it was nice to see on screen how different 292 is compared to 209, b/c to me it sometimes seems the same.

I have a bodybugg which they use on the show and APEX (maker of the band) said that the Biggest Loser contestants work out an average of 3 hours a day. Which they would know bc you have to upload your bodybugg everyday.

The show might get more interesting now since they are playing as singles. I have always been a big fan and even went to the NBC/MSN biggest loser tour for the million pound match up. It was fantastic to meet players from season 4!

How funny, I love the orange team!! The ones I don't like are the yellow, that guy is really starting to creep me out how strong he's coming onto her and then to say he has a girlfriend at home... ewwwww.

3 hours a day isn't as bad, I was sure it was about 9!!!

I watched the Biggest Loser UK yesteday on the Fox Reality Channel, it was an all day marathon, no food commercials during the show LOL. But I liked their format better. Consise one hour shows, with fewer commercials.

I hate the commercials IN the show. Chew this gum, eat this oatmeal, omg brita, etc. Totally annoying. I also hate when they recap after each commercial. FFS I just saw this 2 minutes ago, I haven't forgotten.

Would make me happy if they'd make the show 1 hour and cut out all that stupid crap!

Angie, I so agree with you! After every commercial they recap what we just saw, what, do they think we all suffer from short term memory loss or something? And the in-show ads are getting annoying too. But, I am still addicted.

I also agree about the yellow team. They are divorced, apparently both have new significant others, but are doing this together and sharing a room. If I was the SO, I would be pissed. Especially with the way he is always hanging on her. And, apparently this week he is going to confess how much he still really cares for her. That should be interesting.

I met with some of the cast from season 4 yesterday and they agreed that the ad placement was awkward and cheesy! We were all making fun of it, "you know what I do when I get a hungry? I chew a piece of wrigley's gum" and "you want to know a quick way to make oatmeal? Try....." It was really funny.

Also, although Allison is mildly less annoying this season than last, I still don't like her. Why does she close her eyes when she talks to people?

Can we get Jeff Probst please?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
