  1. Hi All! Alex has graciously allowed me to post once about my dating site for weight loss surgery patients. I designed this site after input from several friends who have had weight loss surgery, myself included. Many of us are new to dating and just discovering ourselves and dating in general is hard enough, let alone after weight loss surgery. I thought it would be a great idea to bring men and women together who have both had some type of weight loss surgery. We all want to stay on track and we all fear regaining the weight we've worked so hard to lose. Finding someone with similar goals and interests would be great for long term success. www.loveafterwls.com was…

  2. Hi everyone, After my weight loss journey, I've been updating my wardrobe and accessories. I realized that lightweight jewelry feels much more comfortable for everyday wear, especially simple stud earrings. I've been reading about lab grown diamond stud earrings and found that they offer the same appearance and durability as mined diamonds while being available in many styles and metal options like 10K, 14K, 18K gold, sterling silver, and platinum. I'm looking for something that I can wear every day without feeling too heavy. I prefer classic round studs, but oval and princess cuts also look beautiful. Has anyone here purchased lab grown diamond stud earrings recently? Ho…

Is not just an Iron Maiden song, lol. ? 27 yrs of marriage, now closing in on 5 years as a widower finding my way in facing the ever-present painful loss, yet continuing forward 9 yrs post op from gastric sleeve emerging from isolation and stepping out from the cave into the world around me interested in living again...enthused about it, in fact. interested in meeting people and possibly dating. Things have changed over the last few years. For example, Facebook. When I was mildly active on there before my wife became terminally ill it was more or less updates from friends on the goings on in their lives. Fast forward t…

Anyone else hold off dating until after surgery? I have decided to wait 6 mos. post to start again. I just feel like I need to focus on my weight loss. It is hard because for some reason I keep getting asked out. Where were they before I decided to do this! J/K I am grateful.

Hello! I'm almost 7 years post gastric bypass. Would like to lose about 30 pounds more, but I am happy with my long term results and minimal regain. Dating is not a problem for me, but I'm thinking that it would be a lot easier, if I could find a fellow traveler! Where's the best place to do that? This site's singles section seems a bit difficult to navigate. Thanks in advance, for any guidance. Oh ... and all offers considered. Lol! Andrew

What dating websites have you had success on? I tried Tinder but I live in a semi-rural area and I swiped so much that it kicked me 70 miles out to Washington DC, lmao. Do you find the people on the paid sites to be more serious? I tried POF and OkCupid but never had any luck on those.... that was many years ago, though. I feel like my criteria is VERY specific and there's not much hope, especially given the low selection pool where I live. I also tried to sign up for eHarmony but after the hour long entrance EXAM, it said I was "in the 12% of people that eHarmony can't help" and it rejected me. LOL. It said I didn't fall into one of their personality …

I’m a single 39 y.o. mom, hard working professional, and new to San Diego. I am not really sure how to get out there to even just meet friends since I moved and then a pandemic started. My body has gone through a lot of changes and in the years to come I anticipate more. Looking for like minded people going through this similar journey to talk to, follow on here, and see what in the area you do for support and exercise. Or just be support for each other no matter where you are at on your journey.

Hi Singles, I'm still on my weight loss journey. I would like to lose another 15 pounds. I wasn't sure when I started this journey what the end weight would be. Just lnew I had to get healthy, get off my b/p meds, stay away from diabtetes, etc. I feel more confident after losing 55 pounds, but I still can't imagine going on a dating site and putting myself out there. I've been on dating sites before, here and there, theres positive things that happen, weird things (scammers) and it takes a lot of energy. Of course, like most people I would rather meet someone "organically." Is there anyone out there that has any advice or words of wisdom that is experiencing dating in the…

Hi I’m 34 and looking forward to having the sleeve next year. I’m really hoping this surgery will boost my confidence and help me get back into the flow of dating. I’m so tired of being used, closet girlfriend or finding out I’m a side chick. Oh that’s hard to even write. It hurts and has caused me to kinda shut down on the dating. I’ve always been very out going, confident and enjoyed dating and I can’t wait to be there again. I’d love to hear some uplifting stories of dating success after survey.

So The majority of my adult life i have been single. Mainly because i didnt want to even try dating being so big. Living in Florida most girls love the beach, pools, waterparks ect... Heck i love jetsking, boating and the beach. No one really has shown any interest before which i was fine with. Now that i am almost 100lb lighter i have girls hitting on me all the time. Even at work several customers have given me their phone numbers without me even asking, My coworker will joke with them and be like "Hey my coworker is single" lol and so far that has worked several times. Even my own other coworker has been showing interest and we been hanging out now. Gotta say.... I lik…

  23. Hi everybody. I just came back from my first dietician and psychologist apoitment. I have gastric sleeve surgery planned for this september, and suddendly it became real. In my circle of friends I am the only one with obesity and I also don't know any other people that decided to go under this surgery. I'm looking for someone who understands the struggle to talk to. I feel excited and scared at the same time. I'm also struggling with social anxiety. Last few months I've locked myslef at home so I'm little wild now, I guess. I don't even know how to start and what to ask :P So how are you guys? How are you feeling?

I find it hard to to date because i feel most people don't understand I don't always want to explain myself. It's been since August 2nd 2012. I started at 405 lb and fluctuate between 179 and 205. Right now I'm very uncomfortable because I'm at the 205 stage. I'm trying to feel comfortable in my own skin but it's too much of it jiggling around. LOL. And the bowel still smell like hell. LOL how do you allow someone in your life with this particular situation. I won't spend the night places. I will leave social functions and come home and then go back just to use the restroom. I always think that if I was to be with someone seriously I would need a bathroom of my own to us…

  33. I'm +55 DWF and will be 1yr post op RNY surgery the middle of September this year. Lost +135 lbs so far. Have about another 35-50# to go. Divorced with grown kids. Looking for single female friend(s) to talk to/commiserate with who have the same in common. And when I'm ready, to help eachother get back out in the real world and possibly find guys as friends or to date. Need someone who can understand what I am going through, still need to go through, to vent to and figure this new future out together with. It's hard for most to understand or be supportive unless they're going through it as well. Message me if anyone has anything in common. Thx. (Should I post here or a…

I wasn't sure where else to turn, and you guys are like my family, so I figured I'd seek advice here.... I've been dating this guy who has an autistic child, she is 10 years old. She's very unresponsive, and seems almost unaware of the world around her. He also has a very active 6 year old, who will talk your leg off! This man is not only someone that I'm crazy about, but he's also my best friend. Last night I met his daughters for the first time, the 6 year old fell in love with me, as did I her. The 10 year old, was physically affectionate towards me, and I returned that to her, but I'll be honest, I have no idea how to do this. How to connect with her, or if i…

  49. I went on a date recently with someone and he decided on a whim that he wanted to take me out for sushi. I tried to suggest something else, but he was hungry. I ordered a few pieces of sashimi and ate the fish without the rice and told him I'm low-carbing it. But I spent so much time chewing it into a paste that I hardly talked, and since I only ate 3 pieces, he noticed and asked me what was up. I just told him I wasn't hungry to begin with, and it seemed fine from there. But I don't want to keep having these awkward interactions. I don't tell people about surgery. If I get into a more serious relationship, I'll reveal it, but I am still uncomfortable with people kn…
