  2. all those things you mentioned are normal - weight gain due to IVs in the hospital, constipation, etc - normal. Just stick to the eating plan your clinic gave you and you WILL lose weight. The only way you'll fail is if you don't follow the plan.
  3. Fruit should be the last thing you eat after protein and veggies. At 2 weeks post op I don’t even think fruit was allowed for me
  4. And. NYJenn, I sure hope you do make it! I am proud of YOU in advance!
  5. My goal is 150, I’m currently at 168. I REALLY want to hit my goal by the one year mark (7/10) so I’m going to work my tail off for the next six weeks

    H Pylori anyone?

Mine was discovered during the pre OP phase. Hang in there it will get better.
  7. Well I don't know if I still ever feel full? Sunday morning going down, had a coupon for Glucerrna, was going to expire today, !3 off is $3 off so bought me some Butter Pecan, Eat your lttle heart out Mrs Gamgee, in their onfinate stupidity it only seems to be marketed in the US. Having it over ice because I forgot to refrigerate it. Not too shabby, none are perfect, that's just the nature of the beast. Sad when you wake up,and say " It must be morning because I AM IN PAIN" most of the time I keep up with you younger chicks but in the Early AM my feathers do drag and look rumpled. Probably couldn't even bring more than a couple $ on the open market. At 6AM is my Carafate, praying it is MAKING a difference in my ulcerations. You Say I should be able to tell by lack of pain? Well it always hurts over my pouch and in the right subcostal area, always has. Just don't mention it constantly but that's the facts of my life. And as for my satisfaction levels 1. I really should eat or drink something, it's TIME 2. How much and for how long should I take this in? 3. Ought Oh, I am starting to hiccups --is it a full symptom or pre- puking? 4. Well that answered that question, and it was 4 tablespoons. Let it rest a while and then maybe some broth? And the few times I have success, food tastes wooden, not once can I say " Gee that sure tasted GOOD! And believe you me, I WOYLD LIJE to say that! Meanwhile the Sun still shines, the birds go Tweet - Tweet, and like my muses the MONKEYS once sang "Another Pleasant Valley Sunday!" Just sign me' Nearly 9 months and Whining" and no Clinic Appointment until August, maybe they feel I'm boring or they think others need them more. I believe the correct term is Benign Neglect!👈👸👉

    May 2019 Surgeries 🎉

You'll do fine! I had my procedure the 20th and forget that I had major surgery! The first 24 hours are the worst. Just keep walking and do not be afraid to ask for pain or nausea medication if you need it.

    May 2019 support group

today is day 3 I had a Lap band to Bypass conversion done. My band had slipped. In comparison I think the Lapband was a harder recovery d/t swelling and the restriction. You felt like you were choking. I have to say getting fluids in is hard. a few sips and I am full. I drink warm water in the morning because it all feels so tight in there. I am sleeping on the couch because I need the 45 degree angle or I get Nausea. If you all had to estimate when did it all just click and it wasn't such a effort to drink and sleep? It's all worth it IMO just wanting to now when it gets easier.
  13. Thank you! I’m def staying away from carbs. I’m afraid of them right now. I’m glad I can tolerate eggs and chicken so that’s my protein as well as these gross protein shakes lol.
  14. If you are following your team's plan for you for food amounts and stages you'll be just fine. I gained weight, 10 pounds, from the IVs in the hospital, so it took me a week to lose the water weight. At 10 days out I was still on protein shakes only, no food, so I don't know about that. I would measure and weigh everything, and only eat the amount you're allowed to eat. Good luck. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I can totally relate to this. I am sometimes obsessed with my weight and the scale and it plays those little games of going up and down 2 pounds without rhyme or reason. Just hang in there and eat your 6- ox of protein a day and get in your 64 oz of water and stay away from carbs and you'll be fine.

    This picture shocked me

And mine is also starting to shape better, mow if I could do something about my ugly face. I think I now have wrinkles like a basset hound on either side of my mouth. That and the fact I now have high, pfominate cheekbone, freaks me out!I have one of those faces, look pretty okay in life, but if you take a picture, it is so 2 dimension, all you see is someone that looks so bad, they should have buried me and maybe they still will.
  17. Hello all! So I’m 10 days post op, vertical sleeve (5-16-19) and I don’t know how much weight I should be losing per day. I freaked out yesterday because my scale went up. I was 352 to 359 but I really am not eating much. I’m drinking a lot of water but as for pureed foods, I’m having about an oz of ground chicken with a tbsp of chunky salsa (without added sugar) or 1/4 oz of refried beans as a snack plus the protein shakes around my 5th snack. Today I weighed myself and I’m back to 353 but I have to admit, I’m going through it! I’m freaking out afraid that I’m failing at this! I also don’t have much support. My husband doesn’t want to hear my whining, and I can’t talk to my friends because they aren’t obese. I’m feeling all the emotions now. Also, I’m not really feeling full. I just stop eating the moment I feel gassy, and wondering if that’s normal. Not to mention, my BM is odd, I’ve used the bathroom just twice this week. TMI. I’m sorry. I hope I’m not the only one experiencing this! I hope it gets better as the time goes and I do see this weight come off. The pain and the emotional adjusting has to be worth it. Sigh :’(. And yes, I’m feeling a bit depressed. I’m just faking it as much as I can. I’m such a social person and life is around food and it no longer is. Plus mg bday is on Wednesday and I already know I’ll be alone and bored af cause I don’t know what to do without food!!! Sorry for the rant. Thank you for reading! Xoxo
  18. I can tell why people compare their weight losses 1, You rationalize it!--- Same time Same weight loss 2 Yiycsee Suzie or Sally be- bopping. along, walking 5 mikes daily, never nauseous, never dizzy, skin snapping right into shape, they don't have areas on their tummy or thighs that look like deflated rubber balloons. which leads to #3 3. Maybe I'm doing it all wrong. Maybe when's have more bloods era when they will find my vitaminn leveks al screwy , maybe I am so malnourised that there may Not be a any, hope of fixing ME.
  19. Wow...My question is when you end up back in the ED for dehydration or pain management is that admission covered by insurance. Around here the usual is at least one night stay over. like the others said around the clock IV and meds. I had to be able to orally do 500ccs to get the IV out. and 750cc to go home. I am not a negative person but you are setting yourself up for re-admission. Is it a choice to wait for open enrollment and change insurance company's one that may cover WLS.

    Mental Evaluation

Hi. I have Bipolar disorder type 1, and a past history of anorexia, so I was very worried as well about not getting approved. It went very well, and I wad approved. All the psychiatrist wanted to know was if I was stable on my meds. (I was, and I never had any manic episodes), and if I had support for after the surgery. I was completely honest with her, and it went fine. Best of luck to you! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. It has helped me immensely to see people who are moderate to slower losers reach their goals, because I agree with you. As time goes by it is easier not to compare but when you see someone with the same exact stats as you almost and a similar surgery date with more dramatic results it can be a bit anxiety producing in the moment - even if you are happy for the person. Anytime I feel discouraged I just tell myself look at the long term not short term picture and take it month by month. Little goals. You can finish an apple in big bites or small bites just as long as you finish.
  22. And thank you SublimeLemons f9rvasking the question, you may have helped another person with your questions.
  23. Me, too. Completely.

What is a NOLA gal like you doing in Viet Jam? Is it business or a pleasure trip? Don't know if I could go there or not, I'm sure it is TRULY beautiful in 2019. ME----- I remember the Viet Nam War,too strongly, just my hangup, I probably wouldn't visit the EUROPEAN concentration camps either, I avoid locations of human suffering.

    Left side pain

So is mine.....The surgeon said they go through a lot of muscles. His instructs were if it is brought on by moving and resolves with resting its muscle. If associated with food or fluids at all I am to call him. He said of course you should expect muscle pain there are 6 port sites. He said also call him with anything that doesn't seem right. Its his job to figure it all out. Mine was 5/23
