My prayers and thoughts also- there are some things in lift that happen that bring it home just how fragile life is and just when you think all is going well, something happens. An hr earlier and that could have been me........

Now that the bridge is out I will need to find another route to get to the Abbott for fills. Anyone familiar with the area and can give me a good suggestion? OR - is there another place to go for fills north of the cities? I hate city driving.

TIA

The Star Tribune website has excellent maps (click on link) detailing alternate routes for travel. OH also has a listing of Bariatric Surgeons/Clinics that may be able to help locating an alternative fill doc.

Thank you - do you happen to have the links for those? TIA

I am starting down the path to my new life.

I have gone to the Info meeting for crosby hospital where they have 4 surgeons that do the lap-band and the r-n-y bypass.

My goal is to be able to go walking, hiking, biking with out getting short of breath and in pain. To start living life.

There is a new support group starting in Mora, MN at the Allina Hospital. Meetings are every other Monday evening at 7:00 pm. Tonight it the first one. They will have a scale for us to weigh if we want. The scale will measure Water, muscle, bone, each arm and leg too if we want. They are also going to have a healthy snack available if we want. Tonight's topic is Getting back on Track. Hope to meet you there!:clap2:

Hi All,

I didn't realize there is a Minnesotan forum here! I've been out in the August 07 forum a lot but it never hurts to find another group!

I was banded 8/22/07 at Methodist with Dr. Wetherille. Everything's gone swimmingly well so far! 50 lbs down, and at least that many to go.

How's everyone else doing?

Hi Pizzicato66,

I am going through the process at Park Nicollet and chose Dr Wetherille. I am really curious about him and I haven't met anyone that's had him as a surgeon. Can you tell me anything about him, like his bedside manner? I won't get to meet with him until after my appts at the end of December.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
