No the first time 2/21 I had a Tummy Tuck, Lipo and breast lift with implants and was fine after a week, I had no pain but some discomfort and was out of work for 2 weeks.

The second surgery was 4/3 to reposition my implants because they moved up instead of down and my boobs were shaped funny so the doctor had to do a boob job again, pull out the implant and open up my lower pocket in my boob so that the implant would go down and stay down, this is the one that I went to work with the very next day.

I thought WOW she's a tough cookie! The whole going back to work has been the most stress for me, I really hope I bounce back fast.

Hey guys, just checking in. Sorry I'm not around as much as I used to. I help moderate another band board and that keeps me pretty busy too. But ya'll know I wouldn't abandon you :)

So I am about 2 months out now. I would say I am about 90%. I still hurt a little if I move wrong or stretch he wrong way. I am finally down to my pre-op clothing size. As stated perviously, I ate terribly post op. I had a fill this past Friday and it has helped trememdously. I also started walking again. I work in an industrial complex and there is a pond/lake between the buildings. The sidewalk around the Water is 1.6 miles. I have been walking it twice a day for the last 2 weeks. Thats 5k a day. Swelling isn't too bad. I will try to post pics this weekend.

LJM - You are quite the trooper and your pics are fabulous.

YEAH! I FINALLY got a surgeon that didn't jack up the prices, who was very understanding about my situation and time frame (must have it done EARLY in July since I am a teacher), AND was familiar with WLS patience. So I am scheduled for my surgery July 3...Two days after my b-day. Best birthday present EVER! My question to you is how long were you in surgery? She quoted me 6 hours. I am going to have an extended TT with a vertical t-incision, possible MR, and she throws in the mons lift. Yeah, no lipo! I didn't want to be itching!!!

My surgery was suppose to take 5 hours but ended up being 6 hours and 45 minutes due to a large hernia that needed to be removed.

Hey guys, I finally took to new pics. Here is the repost I made on my PS thread:

I havent posted in quite a while, but here are my 9 week post op pics. The warmer weather inspired me to do swim suit pics. I still looks swollen, but these are MEDIUM. Never would have imagined that I could wear a medium. I also have more pics in the link in my signature. This will be the first year I don't have to wear the fat mans tee-shirt to the pool. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the responses. I am hoping that she is overestimating the time. I would love to see some refunds from the anethesiologists fees!

Karey- I am very excited and I am going to love it. My plastic surgeon requires that I get an unfill so that there are no nutritional issues. After hearing about all of your experiences I had decided to anyways!

You all are looking phenomenal! Can't wait to join you!

I am wondering if anyone else on here who has gone through the pain, agony and expense of having plastic surgery is now having trouble controlling their eating??? I am so disgusted with myself I can't see straight . . .

Here is the deal - I did not get an unfill before my TT, so post-op I didn't have any trouble controlling how much I ate, my band continued to do that for me. But - it seemed to be getting progressively tighter and then I ended up with a throwing up virus, and by last week - couldn't even swallow Water. So . . . I went in and they took out about half of my fill. Not good . . .

Here is my problem - I have eaten everything that wasn't crawling or nailed down for the past 6 days. I am scared to weigh! I am going back tomorrow to argue my case to be re-filled, even though they told me that I could not get filled again for 14 days. If I wait 14 days, I'll be up 25 pounds!

It is almost like my head is saying 'eat it, eat it, eat it while you can!' and I feel awful. My upper abdomen is so tight it feels like it is going to POP and I can't believe I can't control myself !

I am just curious if anyone else has been as careless (or stupid - ???) as I have? I guess 'misery loves company' and I'd like to think I'm not the only one who has done this.

With any luck, I'll get some of my fill put back in tomorrow and that will put the brakes on this a little. Honestly, before this episode I didn't realize how little control I had over my eating.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
