Hi Toni-Lisa,

Try going to the top of the screen and find "HOME". If you click on home it will take you to the first page and you can find the section for introductions, listings of all the forums, etc. Maybe you can find what you need there. There are lots of great forums listed there but it takes a bit of searching to find the places of interest to you. Try many! Welcome...

Janet - wow girl, I just had a root canal yesterday, and now you....

all is well for my tooth, but now my jaw is killing me, between the novacaine and the pushing on the tooth by my dentist.

I had the ultrasound done after a mammo and then a needle biopsy, ALL TURNED OUT OK...

So looking forwqard to getting away and heading to the beach on Saturday. YIPPEE!!!!!

I hope I have internet access while I am there or I will have LBT withdrawal

Lynn, most of my root canals have been relatively pain-free, but the one that left my jaw aching taught me that icing it really helps. Good luck!

Wow this thread is hopping!! I could just now get to it at 2pm MDT and had 2 pages to read. First, Janet, am praying for you. The reason I am late on the 'puter today is I had my mammogram, and I always sweat it out til I get the results. I had a needle biopsy a few years ago as well. You'll be getting your boobie ultrasounded and I get my gall bladder ultrasounded. Sure it wont' be as fun as my pregnant ultrasound. :)

CathyChatts, I feel like you, I love the June boards and can relate to where in the process the folks there are, but these folks here at the 50's I can relate to where they are lifewise. And I do believe we with more experience in life do have unique issues and a different mindset so this feels so at home. I wish you luck with your fill tomorrow and hope it gives you the needed restriction, but you still gotta quit your drinking! :Banane03:

Charlene, you were banded yesterday, I pray all went well and we will see you on here before long.

Phyl, there was something I wanted to respond to and now can't find it! Oh, yeah, CONGRATS ON THE 85 lbs LOST!!!!!

Janet, happy BANDIVERSARY TO YOU AND CONGRATS!!! Wow to think of where I might be in one year is mind boggling!! I'm so excited. Heck just thinking of where I could be by Christmas. Maybe for the first time in years, I won't be so embarressed to go to hubby's work Christmas party (it's in Januaray this year so i have even an extra month).

No bike ride for me today, I had an early mammogram appt and my knee was really bugging me (as well as my butt from the seat) so opted to take the day off. May walk later. Have a great rest of the day!!

Charlene was banded yesterday.

I am home! I had to stay overnight because he had to plow through my adhesions and the surgery took awhile. He said he almost closed me up, and cancel the surgery. He said my intestines are encased in adhesions. He definitely would have never done bypass. Anyway, he got through and now I am banded. Yea! I am on liquids and will start Protein Shakes this weekend. I am only sore at the port site, but I will keep walking because I know there is still gas in me. Thanks fellow bandsters for the prayers. I felt them, and I am sure the good Lord guided Dr. Garth's hands. By the way, Big Medicine is on Discovery Health tonite.

Charlene - Glad you are home and on the way to recovery. This is my 9th day post-op and I can feel myself getting better everyday. Big incision site - like yours is still sore, pinches and pulls, but otherwise I am pleased with me! Liquids are a challenge, but look at the road ahead. These next weeks are all about healing so have patience.

so many newly banded.

be patient and let yourself heal, the most important thing to think about the first few weeks. Take care of you!!!

I think my fil from last wek is adding some reriction. I am eating less, by choice, but when I eat more than I should, which is way less than before my fill, I candefinitely feel the restriction. I hade about 4 oz of shrimp for dinner and it was a few bites too much. So I am still learning my limitsince my fill.

Just hope to keep up on a positive direction while at the beach next weekend. I am hoping for many walks on the beach and reading some good books. Since it is only me there, i will make sure I only buy the food Ican and should eat. At least most of the time. I do want to enjoy some of the beach specialties in moderation!!!

Thanks! I had laparoscopic, but two sites are two inches long. Yeah, the liquids are boring, but we've gone this far....can't get off the program. Take care!

Sunshine, it's really your decision. I personally do not like my band very tight. I could probably eat way more than I do, but I don't. If you stop losing and feel hungry soon after eating, it's time to get a fill.

Congrats to the new bandsters! I know you will all enjoy much success on your weight loss journeys!

Janet: Good luck. You are in my prayers that all goes well.

If anybody could help me with this, I would appreciate it. I feel kind of silly even mentioning it, but I had my first fill on Monday and the bruise around my port is now purple! Does everybody bruise like this when they get a fill? I am very fair-skinned and do bruise easily, but the fill didn't hurt....the bruise did! Also, even though my doctor is happy, I am getting frustrated that the scale is so slow-moving! If only old age would bring me some patience, along with all the other gifts!

Thanks for your help,

Nancy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
