  1. It is just very hard to get an appt with him after the surgery. Easy to see his nurse Lisa but not him. Six to eight week wait and then long wait in office.
  2. Thanks Sue, I'll be very careful. I have no intention of removing it just letting my esphogus take a rest.
  3. :thumbdown:Has anyone had a lapband holiday? How did it work out? Do to some vomiting problems they took all the fill out of my band. The band was put in in July. I am not going to get any fill back for two weeks. Hope that solves the problem.
  4. I also work at Rex and Dr. Enoch did my band July 11. I would recommend you go with him. I don't know much about Dr. Moran but I've never heard a bad word about Dr. Enoch.
  5. Hi All, Had my first fill yesterday. 2mls. They said my band can hold up to 10 ml. I don't feel much different today. I've lost fourteen pounds in four weeks and I'm happy!!!!!Wishing all you new banders good luck. Skinny Grandma
  6. You are doing great. I hope I do nearly as well as you. Thanks for your inspiration
  7. Hope you have a wonderful time at the outer banks. I live in N.C. and have never been there. My sisters come from N Y to vacation in the banks. Just don't eat too much, get some exercise in and relax and enjoy.
  8. Dr. Enochs has a seminar you go to first, then you have a consult with him. He will let you know what he wants done. Usually lab work, upper GI, Ekg, Chest xray, nutrition and psych consult. He also can recommend the people you can go to. I don't think you'll be sorry if you choose him. Good luck
  9. I also had Dr. Enochs do my surgery. He is the best. I haven't met a patient of his yet that didn't love him.
  10. Very happy for you Tink. You can do it. The liquid stage passes and you get real food again. Not alot but at least its food. Hang in there it will be worth it. I lost 10 lbs in the first twelve days and will be getting my first fill Aug. 7. Skinny Grandma (Hope to be )
  11. Hi, I was banded on the 11th of July by Dr. Enochs. He is excellent. Not only does he have wonderful bedside manner but he is very experienced in bariatric surgery. I would definetely recommend him. I am a nurse and quite fussy about who operates on me. I've never heard a bad work about him. Good luck with whoever you choose. I know Dr. Moran by name but never met him or any of his pts.
  12. Hi, I can't be a mentor to you because I was just banded myself 7/11 but I could be a friend and maybe we could walk this path together. I also am a grannie. Skinny Grandma
  13. I am in Apex N.C. and I was banded on July 11. Since I don't know anyone else with a band I could use a buddy to share experiences with. I too am a granny of three beautiful little girls. Soon to be (I hope) Skinny Grandma
  14. Avoid the carbs they just make you crave more food. Stick mainly to protein. Drink lots of water during the day. Good luck. Skinny Grandma
  15. I think its time for the teen to go back home. It is not fair for anyone to dump there problem child on you or your elderly parents. There a camps and schools his mother should look into for problem children . I think you have your hands full with your Dad. I am raising a six yr old grandchild and taking care of my 85 yr old mother (who has memory problems)so I know where you are coming from. It's nice to be nice but not at the expense of your own children. May God Bless you. Good luck.
