Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

  • Popular Post

Today I had an unexpected and surprisingly satisfying NSV. I noticed that my belly button shrank. It's about 50% shallower than it used to be! Who knew I would be so pleased about less depth to my belly button? ?

Idk about weird but it was surprising when the towel fit around me again without a gap.

    1. Who moved my car seat back? Oh, nobody. My butt is smaller and I'm sitting further back. 2. What? Do gold necklaces stretch? Oh, no. My neck just got smaller and now the chain looks long

: 3 I appreciate it. I'm still dealing with a lot of body dysmorphia. I def have weight to lose still but I carry most of it in my hips and lower stomach.

I'm not sure it counts as a "victory," but it's starting to hurt when I sit on a hard surface. My formerly-amply-padded tush must be shrinking. I'm going to need one of those butt cushions pretty soon!

I don’t think I will ever lose enough weight to make my cushion go away there. they do make butt pads though. They are like shorts with pads sewn in. ?

You know I've been going though clothes sizes pretty fast. It would be cool if there was a place for bariatric patients to share and swap clothes. Just because we go through sizes so fast. That way we didn't have to buy clothes in a size we only be in for a few weeks or months.

Some bariatric surgery centers host clothing swaps. Mine doesn’t unfortunately but I have heard of some that do.

I was happy about that too. I haven't admitted that it was an issue before but now that it's easier I'm just so happy about it.

I have been reading through these they are great by the way. I'm going through some of the same things.
1. I couldn't take my rings off without a huge effort and plenty of lotion. Now I can yeah without issues or lotion.
2. I can get up off the couch without rocking.
3. Not having to go in the big girl section for clothes
4. My daughter asked me what happened to my hands I was oh they just aren't fat anymore lol. She thought something was wrong.
5. Towels fitting right
6. Being able to walking longer and more often.
7. Being more flexible and energetic during sexy time.

We do clothes swaps in my local group. I also like Poshmark to buy and sell. Just listed a ton of stuff in sizes I will never wear again. Do you have any consignment stores to trade at? It’s a very cool predicament to be in! Welcome to the loser’s bench!!

Tami, Re #1, the rings. Windex works so much better than lotion. It sounds crazy, I learned that at a jewelry store years ago. I have used it since then and it really works better than anything else.

Hope your list continues to grow w/ NSV!

I've often thought this. Not only clothes, but protein shakes, too. (Can you tell I have a huge stockpile of shakes that taste nasty to me now?)

Ouchio, me too. I have to sit on one cheek and then the other

Oh I gave away a case of those nasty things. I wanted to drink them post-op, but just could NOT.
