  1. The first couple of months were terrible I had the bypass last Dec 2nd and had some complications so it took me longer to heal but by February I was feeling good. Was throwing up and in pain for what felt like firever. Now I'm doing great I hit my goal weight my surgeon gave me Halloween and my bmi went from 47 to now it's a 25
  2. I would get the clear protein waters and sugar free Popsicles and sugar free jello I liked the chicken soup and strained out the stuff out because you can taste the stuff in it. The clear liquid part of the diet is easier if you have a variety. I had the bypass last December I'm not sure how long you are on the clear diet is for the sleeve also maybe something to make ice or Popsicles with protein water
  3. How far out are? Can you eat regular or soft foods yet? Any way I'm 8 months out I don't see an issue with beef stew or a bit of rice my surgeon said have more protein than carbs in a meal and fruits and vegetables with carbs don't count against you. Not to mention if you deny yourself everything it makes it harder find alternatives on somethings eat small portions of others. It's not an easy path and everyone handles it differently. All I can say is do you. Your feelings are yours real and should be acknowledged. Hope you feel better and it works out for you
  4. Yeah I wear mostly v neck too if my daughter hadn't pointed out I wouldn't have thought I would fit either
  5. So I hang up my clothes and with t-shirts I need the hangers with the slots to keep them on the hangers not it always worked. But I don't need those slotted hangers anymore because they are small enough to fit the hanger
  6. First I'll say I was lurking in the shadows for a while before posting anything also. I would like to start with you started this journey for a reason and if that reason is still there I would stay with it. It will get tough especially the first couple of months but so worth it. My mom was worried about it because she knew a couple of people who the surgery and went the other getting to skinny and looking sucked in. But I'm doing good right now and glad I did it. Though I was upset in the beginning because of sever complications. But with all that I would do it again. Do what you feel is right for you. Congratulations on taking the first steps of this journey and hope you find what is best for you
  7. I would think so. I called to see if my insurance covered it. But not to see if it was approved after. But if you are worried it's not going to hurt anything to call
  8. I'm in California and my insurance covered it just had to pay copay. Had to jump through but I'm surprised that a lot of insurances don't cover it because when I was looking at insurances when we could change all the ones I was looking at covered it
  9. I would check your potassium levels mine were low had some of that going on
  10. I had started walking a lot and needed a good pair of shoes so my feet and knees didn't hurt as much. I did some research I ended up with Brooks ghost 14 they are beautiful on the inside super comfortable also found in store so I could try on.
  11. I'm not sure if I have bumping syndrome or not but am to scared to really find out but I don't limit what I eat just how much and what kind. I was told 9 grams of sugar per meal. I think if you take everything you like you won't be as successful at least I wouldn't. I eat bread just not a lot I eat pizza just not a lot I eat ice cream just eat the bryers carb smart. I made cake and cookies with monk fruit sugar instead. I found sugar free cookies. And I think I'm doing good it's been 8 months since my bypass surgery and I'm down a 116lb and have 14 left to go.
  12. You're right not everyone is embarrassed my point was that no one person on this journey should fell bad, embarrassed or worried about other people. And feel good about yourself and your decision. I've talked to a few people who had thought about it but were worried about their family and friends reaction including my best friend.
  13. I vaped before surgery and had to quit prior which I did my surgeon said 8 weeks of no nicotine before but I read it takes 4 weeks had to have a negitive nicotine test before my date I will say that the good part of vaping over smoking is you change the nicotine level when I started the journey I was at a nicotine level of 6 and after my first appointment and when the bottle was empty I switched to 3 and when I got my date I switched to 0 which helped with the giving up and dosent show nicotine test because there is none. Sorry this happened my team made it very clear no nicotine and they would test for it and if I had it they would cancel it. Hope you don't get discouraged stay strong just another bump in the road it will work out. But I would switch to 0 nicotine level as soon as possible also I washed my tankard put in a new coil.
  14. Bartastic is the I used recommended by surgeon. And it's free
  15. I believe it's your right to tell or not. I'm super open about it. I tell everyone I'm proud of my decision and the progress I've made. And I don't think there is anything to be embarrassed about so why hide. I've had only good feed back. My mom was worried about me but still super supportive. I don't get why we should be embarrassed. This was brave decision in my opinion if there was anyone who had bad or negative thoughts they didn't say it to me.
  16. I had my bypass surgery on December 2 2021 and had set a goal to reach my goal weight by my birthday day on October 8th. I started at 290 goal weight is 160. And I have lost 114 lbs bringing down to 176. I have 16lbs to go in just under 3 months. But I'm nervous about the time line of reaching it on time. I had heard the last 15 are the hardest to loose. I'm worried I'm not going to get there in time. I haven't really had a stall or anything. I mean I can go back and forth on the weekends but usually by Monday or Tuesday I'm back to the same or less than Friday but that's it. I'm wondering if most people have issues with the last 15lbs. I also like to know if anyone didn't have a hard time
  17. I used to like chicken turkey and pork can't stand it or the smell of it either. Tried to make my husband a turkey sandwich and almost gagged. But can eat some fish and beef.
  18. First congratulations to on all the hard work and result. Second I enjoyed the post I like reading the wordy ones
  19. I didn't miss anything at 2 weeks either. But I was also still on a clear liquid diet and in a lot of pain from them puncturing my liver in 2 places. It wasn't until much later that I really started missing it when I had something that was a little spicy or dry.
  20. Lol I'm a smart ass too I loved this
  21. When I was younger I would never have thought I'd celebrate being overweight. But I'm so excited to be just overweight and not obese or Mobidly obese. And yesterday my weight on my drivers license is right. I had it at 185 for years since I was that weight after I had my now 20 year old daughter even at 290. I am really thinking of changing the weight to my goal weight of 160 so it doesn't lie the other way.
  22. Well it's good to know it may not have to be forever.
  23. I feel like I have given up a lot since starting this journey. I don't mind most of them. Mostly because I feel better and down 103 pounds. However I really really miss drinking while I eat.
