Day 10 post op

Yesterday was a good but a tiring day. Took a long nap and slept in this morning. My surgeon removed the three draining tubes (no more Hawaiian fruit punch hanging off me! She laughed at my rather creative analogy)... AND said I looked like a patient 2 + weeks out! She was so pleased with the excellent progress and wound response. I finally had a good bowel movement in three parts, too. It took a little coaxing, but I could tell things were seriously compacting (as they did after sleeve) SO there was much relief from that aspect. Continue to remain low key and take things day by day. A little sore at drain sites. And, I did ask her if she did in fact tighten abdominal muscles on day of surgery. She said yes, and wanted to be sure we received optimal results! Okay then. Now I know where that horrific pain was coming from the day of my shower. And, why my appetite is still not up to speed. Apparently, one is not hungry after the tightening. Who knew? All is good. I see her next Wednesday for another follow-up. She's the best. I am so pleased and feel in very good hands in the recovery phase, too. Look forward to my two week milestone. ;]

SK how are you feeling!? Rockin and rolling full speed ahead yet? Yes, I thought surgeon wanted me hunched over but not the case. She's also keeping 3 drains in until next Wednesday on 3rd follow-up. So far, the only freight train hit of pain is getting in and out of bed. Which is only potty or bed/morning time. Try to take a few daily walks outside a day and sit in kitchen nook with lap top. And, stroll around the house. SK she sculpted beautiful perky breasts for me... (I'll share them privately later down the line) I could not be more pleased. I am allowed to shower Friday and excited to see the big reveal minus the swelling, of course. Aren't you glad we did this!?! I feel like a weight has been lifted off my abdominal section! She took 4.8 pounds off. I should settle nicely into becoming a low twenties petite gal.

Taken me so long to respond, sorry!

Yes, I'm feeling really good. There are some residual issues, but they for the most part don't affect me too much.

I also had 4.5 lbs taken off. Amazing, isn't it? I like the fact my surgeon had a lot of drains and some stayed a full two weeks. They kept the swelling away while they were in. I'm glad because I got to see I really do have a flat tummy now, and it's swelling that is making it poochy, not excess tissue.

It's the fact you didn't have the muscle tightening is what is allowing you to stand up straight. It's nice that you avoided that. My stomach muscles are still off and on painful now nearly 8 weeks out.

Catching up @Sophie7713!

I'm glad you're doing so well! You look amazing. Thank you for posting up the pics. I'm sure many people who are considering plastics will appreciate your openness!

You did have muscle tightening, so that explains the sharp pain getting in and out of bed. I had the same, and even at 8 weeks I can still feel soreness from that more than anywhere else. But a tight flat tummy and defined waist is the benefit, so worth it IMO.

Day 15 post op

My second official long warm shower with compression garments off! Only I ran out of hot Water. Maybe I should qualify that as a very long, long, long, long shower! Haha. It felt so good. A definite team effort. While Sophie takes her shower - the boys zealously wash and then, dry garments in the closet with a blow dryer for a fast turn around. Pretty exciting stuff for Bobby, the wire fox terrier. It did not hurt to re-armor this time as last. The breasts felt tight and the tummy is flattening. Again, I share these as clinical not personal. I see the surgeon tomorrow for my 16th day check up and I think the tape comes off over the stitches with new garment instructions? I feel so much better after the Constipation subsided around day 12. Hopefully, that system is regaining normalcy. This is certainly not a surgical procedure for the faint hearted. I am still very pleased with the decision to have had removed the 5 pounds of excess stretched skin. Still a long road ahead... physically and emotionally. Last night was a great comic relief! And, battling that big bad hair dryer was simply exhausting notes the pouch.

You look great! Glad to see you are doing so well.

Bobby is such a sweetie! And he fits in with your decor so well!😁 My JRTs aren't bothered by a blow dryer, but the vacuum cleaner--that's another story...

Bobby does battle with the ice dispenser and vacuum cleaner monsters, too! It is a riot. Wonder what they could be thinking? My idea of heaven is hundreds of frisky Wires AND Jack Russels running all about! Right!?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
