I often think Someday I shall be smaller than the unforgiving public's minds. For what seems like a lifetime I have been judged by the fat shell that they see. And some days I would like to be a little revengeful. There was a guy I was sorta interested in, overheard him tell a friend" I would date her in a 💓beat if she didn't outweigh me!", you just wait Mr Bozo, I'm dropping weight like an anorexic sailor, and the day may just come. Then when YOU hit on ME, I'll say " Nope no thank you, I believe I CAN DO BETTER THAN YOU! " You know what, Karma is a female dog, what went around may come back to bite you where the Sun☀ don't shine!

You deserve someone who loves you and thinks you’re beautiful no matter what size you are! That guy can go shove it! There’s a reason he’s still alone! I’ll step off my soap box now! Lol

So turns out I was feeling so awful because I got an abdominal infection from the surgery. It wasn’t a leak, but something got into my system and created an abscess. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital on strong antibiotics, being fed through a tube, but luckily, no corrective surgery was needed.

I’m home now, eating puréed foods and slowly starting more solid foods. I’m feeling so much better. I’m a little over one month post op. Down 33 lbs since I started the preop diet and down 21 lbs since surgery! Feeling great. My BMI has gone from 42 to 34.9 - I am officially, only Obese class 1!

Lol! Georgetown is the name of my street! I couldn’t think of any names that weren’t taken already when I signed up on BP!

Sounds like quite an ordeal! I’m glad you’re in the mend and feeling good!

I don't like the taste of the passion fruit Isopure I have but since it counts for Protein AND Water, I get it down. Has anyone tried coconut or ice tea flavor? The Water I love is Hint Water. I can easily get 2-3 of those down a day.

I LOVE the tea and the green tea of the Isopure 40's. They are how I really get my fluids and Protein in lol. I like the green apple and melon, it tastes like honeydew, though its a bit on the sweet side. The coconut are 20's and only 16 oz. And taste like I am drinking pure sugar. I can't stand them, its way too much. The mango peach are ok, not great but at least I can drink them prolly like you can drink the passion fruit. I just got some grape one's but I haven't tried them yet. GNC here this week has buy one get one half off on a case, plus I had a $5 coupon, so I bought 2 cases almost for the price of one! Anyway, in my humble opinion, the tea and green tea are probably ok to go with if you can stomach the passion fruit.... like i said those are my favorite and I will probably go to drinking just them if no other flavors work out for me.

I purchased them at Walmart. They had a variety of SF popsicles...chocolate, tropical and the regular. I will buy the chocolate next when I can do SF pudding...which is actually tomorrow.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
