Reached the 10 month post op mark four days ago.
I've been in maintenance for about 3 months now, having decided to stop losing weight back in the end of May. Still trying to find my "sweet spot" in terms of calorie intake and exercise. It's basically been trial and error, but I think I'm getting close ??
Regardless, I feel awesome and am almost used to the new bod. I'm still sometimes taken aback when I see my reflection, or when I fit into clothes that look microscopic to me.
Anyhoo, here is a pic from a couple weeks ago (I'm wearing a bikini bottom for effs sakes! haven't worn one of those in decades). And for fun, some BEFORE pics (these were taken last summer, about 3 months before surgery)

Hey hey hey! We are quickly approaching 1 year! Can’t believe how quick it went. Wanted to follow up on my “slow loser” from a few months. What's new and what’s changed? @Hrsnjs hope you are well!! I’m at 61lbs and feeling good, my Nutritionist still thinks I’m 20lbs behind but I’m working through it. Some days I’m ok with my progress and other days I’m down about it...losing 10lbs in a 2-3 month period is a HARD PILL TO TAKE after letting someone cut and remove 80% of your stomach! Or I’m just hard on myself. Anyone else out there feels they are a slow loser but finding ways to overcome. Thanks! Rock on guys!

Hi everyone! I was converted from lapband to gastric sleeve on 10/1/2018. I have lost 67 lbs going from 227 to 160. My goal is 155! After lots of consideration and advice from doctors I went again and got a full tummy tuck and breast lift on Wednesday! I am sooooooooo thrilled, I never though I would be here in my life. Everyone keep up the great work!

@Freiabr like the rest, I'm sorry about your mom. She is lucky to have you around ♥️.
16 lbs in roughly 2 months! At this rate, getting to your goal by October is totally doable...keep doing what you are doing. Sounds like you have found a groove, stay in it!
As for me, I reached my modified goal at the end of May. I originally had a goal of 120, but changed it to 127 cuz I wanted to stop losing weight. But....I kept losing anyway. Though just recently, the weight loss seems to have stopped-ish as I have been hovering around 118-120 for the past week and a bit. We'll see...
Hope things continue to get better with your Mom!

@freiabr I’m so sorry to hear about your mother! I hope it all works out for you. You must be doing something right out there if you’re still losing! Sometimes other things are just more important.

So my scale moved for the first time in 2 months - I gained 7 pounds!!!! In a week and a half. I’m livid. I started a new anti depressant and I knew it was making me hungry but I never expected that huge increase. Needless to say, we are switching me to a different medication lol

Has anyone tried intermittent fasting? Can someone explain how it works and if you’ve seen results?
I see my surgeon and NUT next week because I’m so upset about the weight gain and hope they can get me back on track.

Hi everyone...how are you all doing?

I am in Brazil since 04/30 because my mother had a heart attack followed by kidney failure, pneumonia and pulmonary edema ☹️ she was only able to have heart surgery (triple bypass) on 06/25 and is still in the hospital...I’ve been with her in the hospital since I arrived and will stay here until August to help her through recovery...needless to say, I haven’t really paid attention to what I eat and stopped exercising. Still, I managed to lose 16 lbs and am now 83 lbs down with another 35 to go! I started exercising this week and eating better so I can be at my goal weight by the obe year mark! It’s a daunting task but I’ll try my best to get there by 10/30 ?

Best if luck to you all!

Hello all! I weighted myself this morning and I was happy to see that I am -65kilos from when I started, that is 143lbs less !
Still have about 40 kilos more to lose (88-90lbs) but I am already so happy, reaching the weight I had in my university years (and that was like 20 years ago)
Congrats to all of us for taking the decision and doing the best we can for ourselves !!

I was waiting for my doctor's appointment to post my update. This is what my doctor put in my notes.
"Jessica is 6 months following laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. She has lost 57 pounds or 58 % of her initial excess weight. This is ahead of schedule for typical weight loss at this time following surgery.
She denies any nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain and is working to maintain a healthy balanced diet. She should continue to focus on protein intake and hydration." I am very, very happy with how things are going. My doctor has a higher goal (175) than I do because once I saw I could do it, I thought I could lose more. So we will see. ?

I am exactly 6 months out and I have lost 61lbs from when I started my pre op diet and I have lost 47 since surgery. Overall very happy with the 61lb weight loss. I am currently 166 and my goal is 155, so 11 more lbs to go! I just scheduled a tummy tuck and breast lift for July so that is motivating me to lose the last 11lbs. I definitely am at a stall with this weight, It it interesting the numbers I get stuck at. I find my biggest challenge is motivating to work out, I still and have always suffered from depression and anxiety and the weight loss hasn't helped much. I do work out just not as much as I would like so working on that. The other challenge I find is going out to eat. I have always loved to do this with friends, family, hubby etc. It is so hard for me not to drink water at a restaurant! There isn't enough time between drinking the water to when your food comes and that sucks for me! Otherwise I haven't lost any hair and labs are perfect so doing well! Congrats to all

I will be 6 months on 4/18. I have been at a stall for 2 months but it finally broke over this weekend. I was sleeved at 295 and this morning I am 230. I am super happy with the 65 pound weight loss since the surgery and 91 pounds all together.
I was on 4 blood pressure meds before surgery, I am down to 2 and they are weaning me off of one them so I soon will be down to 1 and I am no longer pre-diabetic and my cholesterol is 140 now. It was 260 before surgery.
Yes the hair loss sucks but it’s better than the alternative if I didn’t get the surgery.

Doing pretty well. Only lost 3 pounds in the last month and trying not to let that get to me. Only 36.2 lost total since surgery. But all my health issues have resolved. That's the main reason I did this. I've lost 42" (CRAZY) and gone from a size 20 to a 14. And I'm 113 down from my highest weight so that's good too. The next goal: hoping to get off the CPAP! You are all doing great. Let's keep it up! Will be awesome to see where we are all at at one year!

I will be five months post op on 3/29. While I do feel amazing and have managed to finally hit onederland this month, I still have days I feel discouraged that the progress has been so slow. (I've only lost 48 lbs since surgery - although I have to admit I lost an additional 22lbs in the six weeks before surgery bringing my total to 70 lbs since September). I'm down to a size 14 from a 24 and finally had to breakdown and get a new wardrobe. There are days I look in the mirror and don't recognize myself. All in all it's been a positive experience for me but there have been a lot of life changes that have come with the surgery and the weight loss. I still can't seem to find time/ambition to do real exercise like CrossFit or HIIT training but have been meeting up with friends and walking/jogging four times a week. My 90 day follow up with my surgeon resulted in an increase in my daily protein goals and a vitamin a supplement but over all he was impressed with my progress (besides encouraging me to start a more intense exercise regime). So far I have 30 lbs to my surgeons goal and 60-70 to reach my PCP goal. It's been a long road but it has taught me I am capable of so much more than I thought I was.

This past month has been so stressful. I haven't lost a single pound. I have been the same size since Feb 10th. I stopped getting on the scale. I started counting my calories again. I'm only consuming about 500 - 700 per day. I don't snack. I get my protein but I am struggling with my water. My doctor wanted me to drop 30 lbs in 3 months. I guess it has to be 2 months now because month 1 was a fail

So I bought size 14 jeans a couple of weeks ago because my 16s were getting roomy. They were still too darn small! So I went from 16W to regular 16 and then today.. the 14s fit!!!! I’m ecstatic and can’t believe I’m in the smallest of the plus sizes. Tops from Avenue are too big.. I need to find a “normal” size place to shop at!
In case you’re wondering I started at a 20/22 and have lost 70 pounds

I’m surprised both professionals told you to weigh yourself everyday. My doc told me to only weigh myself once a week. Everyone’s weight fluctuates. Try doing it only once a week. Good luck!
