Snacks/Packed Lunches

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am a little over 3 months out! I'm doing really great, and have lost about 60 pounds (starting weight was 238 and currently at 175). Right now, I just need a bit of help/advice. I am a college student who commutes twice a week for classes, but my classes start at 8 AM and end at 7:30 PM. This leaves me having to pack Snacks and lunches as I do not have time during the day to leave campus for food. I am wondering what people are taking for snacks and lunches to work/school that is both easy to take on the go and bariatric friendly. My main problem is that I don't have access to a fridge or microwave (so whatever I'm bringing has to stay in an insulated lunch box for the majority of the day). I am getting really tired of string cheese and grapes! Any and all help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I make adult lunchables turkey and cheese or ham nuts, platters (super small) with a few olives, pepperoni, hard salami, cheese and grapes, beef Jerky, ready made Protein Shakes frozen as my ice, tuna packets with the mayo and relish in it so you can mix in your own. I also find things on Pinterest

This past weekend I found tuna pouches, chicken pouches, chicken salad individual servings, hummus and guacamole individual servings. Mix and match.

Mini salad or power bowls.

Basically lots of small servings of a bunch of healthy things mixed together (lots of it topped with feta)

I do lunchables and snack on one all day really as I can't have much food at all at one time. Also cheese cubes, pimento cheese (homemade), Protein Bars, and cheese curds are my current favorite. I'll do any kind of salad, egg salad, triple zero yogurt, and even plain old strawberries or blueberries.

The days I'm in the office 2x a week I'm in the same boat. Start by getting a well insulated lunchbox which has a good bit of room and some really good re-usable ice packs. And a bunch of small containers. I make a shake for Breakfast and then pack a midmorning snack, which for me is Oikos Triple Zero yogurt and 2 tablespoons of granola. lunch is 4 ounces of chicken breast, chopped and mixed with 1 tablespoon of pesto. Early afternoon snack is a salad with balsamic dressing (about 2 cups). Mid to late afternoon snack is cheese. dinner varies, if I need to pack it.

Keep in mind, I'm 2 years out so I may be able to eat things you can/t.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
