Mouth Sores and Raw Tongue!

I had my surgery on 4/19/17. I have had a sore mouth and tongue. My tongue swells and I have severe pain. It burns severely and is dry. I use several dry mouth products to try and help. Well they don't do any good. The Inside of my lips get raw sore spots, too. I'm just taking a shot to see if anyone else had any problems like that.

How's your water intake?
What surgery?
Have you talked to your surgical team?

Those symptoms can be dehydration or vitamin deficiencies, (or diabetes, thyroid issues, certain medications, etc)

And also thrush? Your weaker immune system might have allowed it to move in and florish.
Sjogren's on the othe hand is an auto-immune syndrome, a member of the arthritis family who often co- exists with its well known cousin with the better PR coverage. And in my long long lifetime at different times I gave been diagnosed with all 3.???

Could also be a b vitamin deficiency. Look up folate deficiency. Let us know what your result is. The best to you. Don't ignore it.

Cranberry was used for thrush but sounds like a reaction to your antibiotics. Or are you using an under the tongue medicine?

Consult your Physician (and maybe dentist too) always, but you can try a very weak (1 part peroxide to 3 parts water) oral solution of peroxide and water or a strong warm salt water gargle (Himalayan) .

It could be a number of problems, only a Physician will know but cleaning the area properly without destroying all of the good bacteria giving the bad bacteria a chance to proliferate could be a starting point to feeling a little better, so I would avoid alcohol based products (like Listerine original) until you have a handle on it.

I’m having these same symptoms. Will talk to my doctor tomorrow about it.
