I’m 8 weeks post op and have been stalled for almost 2 weeks. I’m starting to get frustrated. Just wondering what your longest stall was? Or is two weeks average or no? I know that everyone is different but would love a little advice from Veterans!! Thank you 😊

My longest stall was five weeks or so. I *may* not have been entirely on point with my program during that time, but I was still eating relatively few calories and finding it frustrating that the scale didn't move. Eventually, however . . .

I'm 10 weeks and it keeps going and coming with the stalls. What I have noticed also is lack of going to the bathroom happens around the stall times. Once I take a laxative or Linzess which my doctor prescribed for me, after I use the bathroom, I lose the weight from the stall and keep going.. Until the next one!

What is considered a stall? Absolutely zero weight loss? Or just slowed weight loss.

I've been anticipating stalls of no weight loss, but I'm currently riding a streak of 32 consecutive weeks of losing weight at my Friday morning weigh in. That's a combination of 12 weeks pre-op and now 20 weeks post-op. I've been tracking for 45 weeks now with a weekly weigh-in, and I've lost weight 43 of those 45 weeks. My last non-issue week was on 9/15/17 where I recorded a gain of +0.6 that week.

Now, I have had a few weeks on this journey where I only lost 0.3 or 0.5 lbs at the weekly weigh in, but hey, a loss is a loss. I'm at the point now where I lost usually 2-3lbs per week. Surgery date was 12/11/17.

About 2 and a half weeks but I always find a way to break mine. I'm still losing and I'm a year out almost.

I’m not able to eat very much yet. About 4 bites at a time. I’m not eating many carbs at all. Probably less than 20g a day. But this stall is stuck. I haven’t lost any thing in almost 2 weeks.

One of the Facebook groups I belong to is running a 100oz-of-water-a-day challenge to break any stalls. I've been pretty slow at losing this past two weeks so I'm going to give it a try. I've also realized that I may not be eating enough. Have you been monitoring your protein/carb/fat/fluid intake? I hadn't been and I think that may have been one of the reasons for my stall. Not being hungry (EVER!) I tend to forget about eating.

I can’t drink Protein Shakes so I put genpro in my Water with some crystal light. I get right about 64 oz of Fluid in daily. I work in prek and I’m so busy during the day that I don’t eat much. I’ve been counting around 300-400 calories a day and less than 20g carbs. Tried to up my carb intake and I got really bloated and felt gross. But the scale hasn’t moved at all seriously. Not a single pound and it’s been 16 days now 😢😢

i was sleeved on april 2nd & am dwn 30lbs since the wk before that but i also feel like im at a stall already.im ready to throw the scale out the window.i hope i am loosing in inches.my ? is once a stall breaks do u loose a big chunk of weight at one time or very slowly lb by lb consistantly or what?im praying for a big drop when it breaks but not sure what to expect.

Just out of curiosity, I googled "three-week stall" and got more than 7 million results. I'm sure if you search that expression on this site, you'll get quite a few, too.

Once a stall breaks, you may see a sudden drop or it may just go back to slow and steady, a pound every day or two--everyone is different. Please, please, just go with this variation in the program. You didn't put the weight on one pound a day every day; you are NOT going to lose it that way, either. But if you follow your program, it will come off.

Some doctors and other advisers will tell you not to weigh yourself for the first month or two. I wanted to keep track then, and I still do, but think about why they would say that.

Yes, you are very right! I have googled and googled stalls and how to break them. I just don’t want my surgeon to think that I’m not following the program because I most definitely am!! And of course, it’s so disheartening to get on that scale each week and see it the same. I do feel like I’m still losing inches though, just not sure why that scale isn’t moving! I appreciate your positivity though!! Thank you 😊

I'm in the same boat -- for 3 weeks now. I saw some downward movement and thought the stall was over, but it was only temporary. Today I weighed one pound less than 3 weeks ago, and I am oscillating between about 194 and 198, with daily weight variations up to 2#. I weigh my food/measure my food and track every bite, so 2# swings are clearly just Water.

I think we just need to stick with the program and count on it to work. And, have realistic expectations about what we will reasonably lose every week. But man, this month's looking like a hot mess! Right now, I've lost 1#!!!!!

My stall has finally broken. At almost exactly 3 weeks. I am down as of this morning 3lbs!!!! Not a lot but it’s finally a movement in the right direction. I had to eat more!!! Literally force myself to eat more often to get in more calories and it finally stared dropping again. Hallelujah

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
