  3. im sorry i meant to put 284lbs as my starting weight instead of 254lbs.i should have reread before sending, lol
  4. so it has been 10 months since my surgery & i started out 254lbs & now weigh 170lbs & wear a size 10.i have had treat days all along & have lost weight all along.i work out 5 days a wk anywhere from a half hour to an hour and 15 mins on avg. i do cardio on one day & strength training on the next.i go out to eat about 2-6 times a month,i order whatever i want but can only eat a small amount.the rest of the time i eat pretty healthy & avg about 1,000 calories a day.i have personally learned to balance out my treat days & did not gain during the holidays despite all the baking & parties.im sure after the one yr mark i will have to always adjust my calories & workouts as it will get harder to maintain.i will never b hardcore & not allow myself treat days, for me its about living & balancing everything out & choosing a lifestyle that works for me & for longterm.everyone has to find what works for them.its great to read everyones experiences & advice & take pieces away that work for u & devise ur own plan.

  7. try to do a half hour of cardio a day, walking, just a half an hour, before or after wk,it will boost ur metabolism, despite the alcohol & make u feel so much better.u can do this.like u said,u didnt go thru all of this to not eventually get healthier & dwn to ur goal.keep networking for a new job.u have got to force yourself to get out or it will only get worse.u can do this.
  8. you definitely sound like a strong person.Focus on making the future better for u & ur kids.don’t let this derail all ur hard work,u can do this. You can’t fall apart now, having to b extra strong for ur kids, holding it together at ur high pressure job,i know it’s a lot but u keep on going & u will get u & ur children bk on track & be better than ever.the sunshine will come out again & u will b so proud of yourself & ur children will see how strong & even more amazing u are.u will get thru this & life will b good again,i promise.best of luck to you.0
  9. surgery date 4/2/18 hw 321 sw 284 cw 239 1 gw 170 2 gw 140 i feel good but really have to constantly wk at getting my calories & water in.i am super busy at wk & sometimes only have a few mins to decide if i should eat or drink.i get filled up so quickly.i always get my protein in but struggling some days to get my water in.i do cardio 5-6 times a week, anywhere from 36-70 mins.,depending on how i feel.im getting sick of eating the same things.i like to cook but so hard to track all the ingredients & then either have to freeze or throw away before it gets eaten.i just have been eating simpler, less processed foods.i dont get to my vegs & fruits as often as i would like, since im trying to use space for water & protein.my nut wants me eating 3 times a day,no snacks ideally.im allowed 600-800 calories a day.i cant wait to have lean red meat & pork when i get to 6months.i hope everyone else is hanging in there & feeling well.please let me know how the rest of u april sleevers are doing.

  12. im lucky that i wk w/ a lot of wonderful people & most i consider good friends & i also have some great clients that i have known for yrs.i was able to tell everyone & got nothing but luv, support,& praise.it helps motivate me to see their reactions the next time i see them.i think it is therapeutic to talk about it & i like educating everyone on how hard it is & everything we have to keep up w/& monitor & definitely not the “easy way out”.

  14. i was sleeved on 4/2 & was losing a lb a day but then came the 3-4 wk stall, was so frustrated.my dr. had me start doing cardio 6 days a wk,he mentioned that usually the first 20 mins is your liver getting rid of sugars & toxins & after that is when u really start to burn fat.this really registered w me & although i was pissed having to wk out that much & for longer periods of time,it did finally break my stall & i am now losing weight again, only 2lbs that first wk but then 5lbs this wk.so i am dwn 37lbs now.he gave me a realistic goal of 20lbs in 2 months by the next time i see him vs wanting me to lose 50-60lbs in 5-6 wks initially.i definitely feel i can meet that goal & maybe a little more.hang in there, everyone is right that if u stick to ur program & try upping ur exercise & water the stall will break.
  15. i like pure protein,one,& then quest
  16. how far along are u?im gonna b on my 6th wk starting mon.we can certainly exchange recipes & maybe create some better versions of our favorite stuff together also.
  17. curlyv, forgot that i also put about a 1/4 tsp each of dried thyme & rosemary in the mixture for shepherds pie recipe
  18. i was sleeved on 4/2 & was on 2 different bp meds but since ive lost weight,im off 1 1/2 of the 2 pills & hopefully soon will b off the other half,so to speak,as one was a combo.im sorry to hear that u both have high reads now,it probably is due to stress & pain.i sure hope it goes dwn soon for u two.
  19. i just roasted some thin sliced carrots w tiny bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic,& onion powder til real soft.i chopped up sm after.i fried some 93./. lean grnd beef but u could do grnd turkey or chicken.i added about a Tb of worcheshire sce,Tb of tom paste, tsp low sodium soy sce,1/2 cup of red wine,1 cup of low sodium bf or chkn broth, some more garlic & onion powder, salt & pepper & simmered 15 mins, then added my carrots bk in along w 1 c of frozen peas thawed.then i poured into a sprayed glass pie plate or 8by 8 dish.then u can either do cauliflower mashed pots or since i could have real mashed pots but i didnt have time so i made some instant ones but i used low sodium chkn broth instead of water, added at least an extra 1/2c of pot flakes for more flavor, skim milk & some light margarine & i put a Tb of lite deans frnch onion dip but u dont have to do that or u could use lite sour crm or lowfat greek yogurt to make creamy & salt & pepper to taste.after i stirred that up i added in a scoop of protein powder, unflavored ,& an egg yoke, mixed up & spread over top & baked about 30 mins on 350 or til lightly golden & top w some parsley flakes.u can puree ur serving but i personally couldnt stomach anything but soup pureed,so i just mashed w my fork & it was the most satisfying.i also made a yummy ricotta bake & layered that & low sugar red sauce over soft steamed zucchini & squash.i made a lowfat, sugar free pumpkin custard.u could do a lowfat,lo carb cheeseburger pie ,an eggbake casserole,or spaghettii squash augratin or lite alfredo.i have roasted acorn squash halves & u can make sweet or savory.i could go on & on,lol some things may be too rich for u or cause heartburn,i was fine though.just depends on what u can have on ur plan.
  20. a lighter version of shepherds pie was my favorite
  21. im in my 4th wk post op & have lost 30lbs since 1 wk preop & now the scale is not moving.im working out & not eating more than i should,so frustrating this early on.i have heard stay w it or up ur carbs for a day or try to drink 100oz of water or switch up ur workout,& even up ur calories or decrease them.so i guess i will try a couple things til it breaks.hang in there, supposedly its normal & will eventually pass.
  22. my surgeon said 1 week but i took 2 1/2 wks off because everyone encouraged me too.i didnt have any problems or pain & could have gone bk after 3 days honestly but def a wk for sure.
