High Blood Pressure AFTER Surgery?

Hey Everyone,

I’m 5 weeks post-op, down 35 pounds and feeling pretty good. I’m exercising regularly and cleared to eat all foods. My only problem is my blood pressure has spiked up. I never had high blood pressure before surgery and now it’s 150/99. My surgeons office said that wouldn’t have anything to do with surgery and I already made an appt with my primary for this evening. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

I came out of surgery with sky high BP, stayed two days because BP gave me horrid headache. Came home with it still high and today I’m 9 days post op and it’s finally lowering a bit. Surgeon wasn’t worried said it was because of pain do I went to my primary dr on Monday and he also wasn’t worried, so I’ll record my BP daily. May 4th is my two week and will talk to surgeon again

i was sleeved on 4/2 & was on 2 different bp meds but since ive lost weight,im off 1 1/2 of the 2 pills & hopefully soon will b off the other half,so to speak,as one was a combo.im sorry to hear that u both have high reads now,it probably is due to stress & pain.i sure hope it goes dwn soon for u two.
