Weirdest coments you've gotten since WLS

The other day my girl friends and I went to a bar/restaurant and they ordered drinks upon entering. I said, "nothing for me". Later she brought us our menus and their drinks. The waitress didn't say anything then, but eventually said "So why aren't we drinking anything? Why aren't you hydrating? Fluids are friends!" I told her I don't eat and drink at the same time. It seemed to suffice her curiosity. But it made me think that there has to be some weird stuff people have heard!

My nephew announced at a restaurant over the weekend that he wants to go to lunch with me all the time, because I share grown-up food with him and he doesn't have to order off the kids menu. He's 3 and I'd just given him two (out of three) of my hamburger sliders, and now he's making me read the menus to him so we can order something to share. It turns out an appetizer is exactly the right size for an adult bariatric patient and a voracious three year old, who knew?

it is ok if during a meal you mix in your mouth if necessary a teaspoon of Water in. Like if you feel you will choke or something.

I do this too. Some foods are more dry than others, and I also like to take a sip to clear my palate. I find that bites 1-3 of any meal are delicious and bite 4 is a chore; if I take a small sip after bite 3 and wait for a bit, I taste everything better on bite 4. My water glass is still practically full by the end of the meal, and my doc and nutritionist really aren't sticklers for this rule. As long as I'm drinking less than an eighth of a cup I really don't notice anything.

Someone told me I had lost weight and looked thinner, I would have taken it as a compliment, except the only real difference, was I finally, had shed my winter jacket. ?

I had one idiot say to me that he could tell that I lost weight, it isn't AIDS is it? I have had people tell me that I need to eat a cheeseburger. I have had people tell me that I don't need to lose any more weight. I have had people ask me if I intended to lose the weight. I have had people ask me if I was sick or had cancer. I have had people tell me what I can or can not eat. I have realized that people are dumb.

Wow some people do not know who to engage their brain do they? At a BMI of 24 you are a long way off from looking like someone who has been suffering the results of cancer treatment.

My weird weight loss comments:

I had a family Dr's appointment. I walked passed the receptionist sitting at her desk. She latched both hands around my thigh and exclaimed "your so small" I don't know this woman well enough to have her attached to my leg....lol

Dinner party with my husband and several other couples. A guy across the table looked at my husband and said " you must be having sex all the time now"

My surgeons office - Dietician said I would look less skeletal if I gained ten pounds - The dr that same day told me I'd be at my ideal weight if I lost ten pounds.

Local bariatric meeting - A person told me "you didn't have to work as hard as the rest of us to lose weight"

Bahahahaha! WTF?!!! Crying. So so funny.

OMG some of those are hysterical! Especially the person who grabbed your leg! Like WHO DOES THAT? I can't believe the things people say.... SMH.

Slightly in a similar vein, I've had acquaitances, since I, have been telling everyone I'm going,to have surgery, start circling me. Last one who did, I asked them" What are you doing?" he said "Well you don't look much different,to me" Do you suppose it's because I haven't had surgery yet??

A lady at my work said to me ‘Oh you are FINALLY losing weight off your legs, The worst parts of your body is always the last to lose weight off’ I always thought my legs weren’t too bad, Apparently not lol

VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 88.8kg.

“ I never know it’s you from the back”. One year in.

”Wow you’re still eating small meals “ Three years in

”Dont lose anymore, you will look like you’ve just come from a concentration camp” From a Jewish work colleague. I was so shocked. Was glad to hear the next week she was moving not only to a different department but also to another town. Usually she’s such a lovely person ?

Happy Early May Everybody! Had me a WTF moment yesterday. Person looked at me and said " I'm glad to see you're wearing,a t-shirt." Yeah but 97% of the time I do except for, cold weather when I wear a sweatshirt. Only, thing in his defense; I was wearing my pink " I. MAKE THIS SHIRT LOOK GOOD" instead of a more subdued or solid color.

Wait until you're pregnant and complete strangers walk up and rub your belly like you're a statue of Budda!

Coroner bellowed HOW MUCH WEIGHT HAVE YOU LOST at me the other day. Good move, doing that in front of the head of HR.
