    Weight loss stall

My surgery date was close to yours 9/1/2017 (I hope I got that right I’m from Australia) and I’m basically in the same boat, I think I’ve lost maybe 3kg this year.. But I am still losing inches, Are you taking your measurements? Also muscle weights more than fat, I’m finding my muscles are finally coming back VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 88.8kg.

    Food funerals

I think most people do it, Funny thing is you can still eat everything you could before surgery after surgery, You just have to find the will power not too. Just remember what ever you gain now is more that you have to lose in the end VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 88.8kg.

    Am I losing to slow???

I feel like my weight loss has been slower than a few other people who were sleeved around the same time as I and I know we shouldn’t compare ourselves sometimes it’s hard not too but I also like the sit back and think about the last time I lost 40kg in 6 months.. umm never! We need to remember just how far we’ve come. You’re doing great.. keep it up VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 88.8kg.

    How normal is this?

I had one of my friends take a candid photo of me the other day and I cringed at the thought and then she showed me and I was like umm who is that. I look at my before and afters and I know I’m getting smaller I guess I just didn’t realise how big I was! Some times the mind just takes a little extra time to catch up to the lose. VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 88.8kg.

    Stall at 1 month in!

It’s completely normal & it’s completely frustrating! I didn’t lose weight for pretty much the entire first 4 weeks and it got depressing because I was doing everything right. Keep doing all the right things & trust the process:) VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 93.5kg.

    I'm freezing

I’m so glad I found this post, I thought I was going mad. I’m always freezing now. I also bruise like a peach and that never happened before either. VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 97.5kg.

    Weight loss depression

I was exactly the same and it is so disheartening especially when your doing everything right, But from what I read our bodies are trying so desperately to hold on to everything because it doesn’t know when it will be fed again, Soon your body will adapt and it will start falling off! Trust the process, Oh and take measurements because even when the scale isn’t moving I bet the inches will be getting smaller. Good luck VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 102kg.

Can I sleep on my stomach?

    From day 2 I slept on my stomach and I haven’t had any issues VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 102kg.
  12. For me, The pain from the incisions was minimal. The pain from the gas on the other hand was pretty awful for the first 5 days in my shoulders, It felt like an elephant was sitting on me. I didn’t take any pain meds after my stay in hospital. I took a month off work as I have a very active job with lots of lifting but I could have gone back after two weeks with no problems. In saying that, You really don’t realise until after the surgery how much of a new full time job this is, Trying to reach protein and water goals takes a lot of effort, So I don’t think having the extra time off was a waste for me VSG: 1st Sept 2017. [emoji1037] 30. SW:130kg. CW: 102kg.

  14. I wish I had known that the pain from the gas is the really awful, Up in your shoulders after surgery, just walk around as soon as you feel up to it. Take before photos & measurements even if you really don’t want too.. Let me assure you stalls in weight loss after surgery are extremely common but mentally it can be quite difficult especially if you are doing all the right things and nothing happens for week/s so it’s nice to see the progress
