Hmmmmm. It’s hard to tell, but under the steri strip on the top, is that drainage of a yellowish nature? It does look a bit inflamed but that may not be unusual as everyone’s skin reacts differently to surgical incisions. If there is any purulent drainage though then a trip to your surgeons office is certainly warranted as you may need antibiotics if there is an infection.

I had one incision that always looked a bit worse than the others.

I am four days gastric sleeve post op and concerned about one of my incisions being infected. Does it look infected to anyone else? IMG_1639.thumb.JPG.4aa8eae05d4db676e614c4d9c3baddb1.JPG IMG_1639.thumb.JPG.4aa8eae05d4db676e614c4d9c3baddb1.JPG

Yes looks infected to me - Call your doctor before it turns into something ugly

And if it is infected, even with anibiotics it may not heal so smoothly, may end up with a scar that's bigger or more noticeable than the fine almost invisible white lines most people are, left with.

It does look irritated and likely infected. The redness, draining, and separation of the incision are concerning. I'm not a doctor but none of those things were present with my incisions so I recommend seeing your doctor ASAP to resolve it quickly if necessary.

I did experience a rash on my chest post-op that I felt embarrassed about mentioning to my doctor. They had to prescribe a medicated powder but it helped a lot to know that it wasn't a big concern to them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
