Moisture under stomach flab
Once there is no yeast or fungus, use some gold bond medicated powders in the creases after you shower. Make sure everything is clean and dry, then sprinkle it in your folds wherever you have a problem.

High BMI
I started at a BMI of 55. I am 5 10 as well. I now weigh 185 and wear a 10/12 in pants and a medium in tops. I could maybe lose another ten pounds if I went to being super diligent about carbs again. My body is happily maintaining here for a few months.

Do you ever feel you are losing too fast?
The weight loss will slow its pace the closer you get to a more normal BMI. It seems like the last 20 pounds I lost took six months, in comparison my first six months I lost well over 100 pounds. The further out from surgery you are, the more you will be able to eat as well. Some of us have cravings return after a time post op as well. Enjoy it while it lasts, as long as you are eating healthfully nutrition wise fast weight loss is a desired effect your first 12-18 months.

Pounds lost
I’m 16 months out post gastric bypass. Down 201 pounds, 186 from after surgery. Would love to lose ten more but I’m ok if this it. ?

last minute cold feet?
If you were diagnosed with Cancer, would you discuss waiting for treatment for a year or two in hopes that better treatments were available in the future? Obesity is a disease and many people that have had surgery wish they had done so sooner, not later.

I'm in despair
Don’t forget, it is normal at this stage for some emotions to be running amuck. Agree with above, focus on water and staying hydrated. Increased protein intake is going to come in time. If your friends are confusing you or overwhelming you with advice, just tell them you are following your surgeons plan and that is what you were advised to stick to. If you were an emotional eater, this is a tumultuous time post op, but it will pass don’t worry! I had some crying jags and emotional peaks and lows following surgery, it is normal. It does get better, be patient with yourself. ❤️

Fear of being hungry, and RNY success
I had gastric bypass on 12/02/17. My start weight at consult was 384, my surgery weight was 369. I now weigh between 182-185. This was my surgeons goal, I may try for 175. I am 5’10” for reference. I have gone from a 28 in pants and 4x in shirts to a 10/12 in pants and usually a medium now in tops. I agree with above posters, I do get hungry but it takes much less to feel satiated and although I do still get cravings for things, it is easier to not eat those things now as I know they make me feel poorly, both physically and mentally.

4 Days Post Op RNY
It’s possible if your protein shake has lactose in it that you may be intolerant of it for awhile. If your protein shake is low in sugar it is likely not dumping.
-
Eating & Drinking
You will get used to it eventually, but it is definitely unnatural. ‘I agree with the above, I always make sure I order or cook something that will be moist if possible. If absolutely necessary I do take a tiny sip if I’m done eating. I also rinse my mouth or brush my teeth after eating which can help.

Weight loss
20 pounds in three weeks is a huge rate and it doesn’t stay that fast forever believe that. It’s not a sprint. Just enjoy the journey for what it is. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Food Addiction
So what is stopping you from seeking the counseling through work if you feel you need it? Is it anonymous or are you having a fear of being identified? If you have problems with depression you don’t want to medicate with food, seek counsel or treatment through psychological therapy or medication if necessary. Many of us are or have struggled with the same issues regarding food or we wouldn’t have needed surgery. Best wishes.

Hello! Just a Quick Introduction
It is not an easy decision to make when you realize you need surgical help to conquer obesity. Good luck on your journey and gosh I hope you only need three months because 12 months of a supervised diet is excessive! Whatever it takes then...you can do it!

Protein
Are protein shakes, protein cake bites, protein chips etc that are such heavily processed foods healthier than actual meat though? ?
