My doc office sent me a packet but I haven’t gotten it yet. I meet with them Tuesday, so I expect I will get more info at that time.....

But in the meantime, would any of you share what things you can “drink” during the liquid diet?

My nutritionist originally said “oh, 6 Ensure a day is enough to meet your daily needs.”

I will do what I have to do, but 14 days of Ensure all day may make me go batty......

So clear liquid diet basically you can have Vitamin Water I found some Protein water I posted a picture of am not sure if you can find it it has 15 grams of protein I also drink Premier Protein I drink Powerade Zero I found some Soup broth that are 10 mg of protein you do not have to drink 6 ensures a day I'm sure that that will get very old very quick just try to change it up a little try different things see what works for you I'm on day 4 I'm feeling great even though I haven't had food in 4 days I even found sugar-free popsicles there is Syrup flavoring that sugar-free that you can get an add two things to change the flavor like if you got plain vanilla Premier Protein or any type of protein you could have different flavoring like caramel or salted caramel or whatever you just got to do what works for you trust me the first few days I was only drinking Premier Protein chocolate flavored and that kind of got old for sure going to pick up some new ones today.

Premier Protein was my favorite, loved the strawberry the best. I still eat sugarfree popsicles at almost 5 months post-op

My preop packet was awaiting me at home when I got home. In short, yep, I need to do 6 Ensure or equivalent generic brand each day for my two-week diet. I can add flavorings to it and also have the things shown on the allowed beverage list like broth, Vitamin Water Zero, sugar free popsicles.

Believe it or not, I am excited to do what I need to do to get prepped for my procedure!

To all of you on your liquid diet or starting it soon...this will be the hardest thing you are having to do because we aren't used to it. But after a couple days you will feel better! Remember to have your broth when feeling tired and little strength because the salt is important. Just go easy on the broth if you have high blood pressure. I thought I couldn't do the liquid stage but if you want the surgery it is extremely important to shrink the liver. Most Obese or Morbidly Obese people have fatty liver which makes it difficult to perform the surgery. I have heard that some doctors will not do the surgery if they look inside at the beginning of surgery and you didn't do the liquid diet. It feels like hell now because your stomach is still big and hungry. After surgery you won't want even broth at first. The only thing I wanted was ice chips and sugar free popsicles. Good Luck! Hang in there!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
