Any February Sleevers?

I just got my surgery date. February 12th. It hadn’t felt real till now that it’s actually happening. I know it might sound weird but now the nerves are kicking in.

Has anyone thought about the KETODIET I'm going to ask my doctor I do not know enough about it but its suppose to be low in carbs

It's basically the latest version of the Atkins Diet, i.e. low carb. It's a fad diet, and will eventually fall out of favor. There are some Keto recipes that are high protein and relatively low cal that can fit into a healthy balanced diet. But then there is also the insane part of fad diets, like keto followers having their Starbucks lattes made with heavy cream.

I'm still on liquids, but abut to transition to purees. I've been hungry the last few days and frustrated never feeling full on liquids. I tested out a pureed phase food, roasted sweet potato, and finally had that full feeling. Hallelujah!

The group we created is on Facebook. I linked it earlier in this thread it is called Bariatric and Beyond 2018 so of you go on fb just search that name. The group is all Feb surgeries!

On the plus side today I am experiencing eggs for the first time. I am going super slow but so far so good!!

Hi all.

I survived! Friday was my sleeve day and today I'm home. The Dr didn't find a hernia after all, so that was good.

The first couple days were rough, but after the pain meds were adjusted, I'm doing much better. I was also able to get in the whole 8 ounces of protein drink over about 40 minutes.

I am so glad i never have to do Day 1 ever again. Ugh.

It's good to see so many of us doing wel.

Brief background, all my dieting failed, I loved nutrisystem, but just could stay on it past 6 months.

Now, I am in a pre-op situation. I was to stop the nutrisystem, and eat regular meals. It took a while, but now I am building my own meals. Never spiced or rubbed s chicken before in my life, until now. I can pass fast food joints, even when I am hungry. Grabbing an apple is second nature, and I push for better Fiber count. I actually watch cooking shows for ideas of what I could cook up. Two months, I lost 15 lbs of my starting 394. I haven't felt better. Normally, if I lost 15 lbs, I'd hit a pizza as a "celebration.". No desire for that now, just want to tick off another 2 lbs. My only problem is perhaps not enough vegetables, and need better meal scheduling.

So, I feel like I could keep doing this, and maybe won't need surgery. Or am I falling into a trap?

Good luck to you have you tried any of the KETODIET foods They are low in carbs and from what I see not hard to cook

Going home from surgery today. Feeling optimistic. Sleeved on Feb 27th

It's now 10:25 AM on March 2nd.

I was sleeved 28 Feb, only stayed one night at the hospital. I was back in my room and done with surgery by 5 PM... super drowsy. But they got me walking and drinking water by 10 PM. I puked blood and it was disgusting at around 2 AM, but everything got slightly better after that. I can now drink 2 oz of water every 10 to 15 minutes with only mild discomfort. But wow.. does my midsection HURT. Changing positions, walking, also, my left shoulder was painful all night, I had to take some Tramadol in order to get some sleep. I seem to be doing better but I just want to be up and running. :( I also feel like a disgusting oily mess and my doctor recommended not showering for 5 days after surgery, so I have 3 days left.
