  1. I'm absolutely SHOCKED at how many times I get hit on now vs before weight loss. Is that how normal people have to live?! It was nice at first but honestly it stresses me out and distracts me now. HOW DO I FIX THIS. Anyone else going through the same thing? It took me a while to realize all those people have been mildly flirting till my friend pointed it out because I just thought everyone was nice (I recently moved to a new city lol). It's ridiculous because I never thought my looks had *that* much to do with it. Jeez. It's not like I'm more confident now or anything either.

    checking in with February sleevers

Sleeved on the last day of Feb 2018, and hit 70 pounds lost! I know there are people out there who lost more in the same period of time but I am honestly super happy about my progress. I've been wasting a shitload of money though in buying new sizes of clothes because they look terrible on when they're one size too big, except for certain items of clothing.

    Non Scale Victories

I AM FINALLY THERE. I fit into all 'skinny people' stores! It feels WEIRD. Oh man, I don't wanna go broke lol. I still walk by stores that have US 12 as their largest size thinking I still don't fit there lol.

    5 1/2 months out

Oh wow, your progress is amazing! Made me feel bad about my mere 58 pounds when we started almost the same. What are you doing?

Checking in with all the february peeps

I am now class 1 obese (low-risk obesity), I started as class 3 (morbid) and I am over the moon!!!!!! It feels so surreal to be only a few pounds from *simply* overweight. I weigh myself in kilograms but I just noticed I am less than a pound away from onederland! HA!

Totally Failing at this Pre Op Diet

The hospital I go to doesn't even recommend a pre-op diet. My doctor said that no amount of restraint pre-op will prepare you for the new lifestyle post-op and honestly eat whatever you want, maybe you'll call that bad advice, but he was right. I'm a little over 3 months out, lost 48 pounds. Don't fret it. What I do now, and the type of restraint I do now is vastly different from anything I've worked with before.

    Can you see the difference?

There is definitely a difference, but please, do not be discouraged. I had almost ZERO people comment on my weight loss till I hit EXACTLY the 3 month mark, then everyone was suddenly like "Oh you look like you've lost some weight", like, everyone said it to me on the same weekend hahaha. It took them almost 45 pounds to notice Just keep on keeping on and I promise it'll happen.

Checking in with all the february peeps

THIS IS SO STRANGE! I've also been losing weight faster lately. And my appetite/stomach seem to be smaller. I don't get it. I ate more at 2 months post op than I do now LOL. Not complaining. I haven't seriously started working out yet, unfortunately. I only do a quick 20-30 minute workout a day. My check up was great despite me not taking my vitamins and supplements religiously lol

For reference, I did not go through a pre-op diet. I was at my highest weight day of surgery lol

Checking in with all the february peeps

Today is my 12 week anniversary! Can't believe I did it! Woohoo, 3 months! Dawn we are stat twins except you're an inch taller than I am, we both started at the same EXACT weight and are at the same EXACT weight now and we both had surgery the same day LOL. That makes me feel incredible as I thought I was a slow loser! I probably am, not gonna lie, but I am not unhappy about it.

    Any February Sleevers?

64 days post op, and 35 pounds down. I feel like my weight loss is slowing down but when I somehow get busy and forget all about it, my weight seems as if it is suddenly dropping. Two weeks ago I started planning a weekend trip and picked out the outfits, and now one of the dresses is TOO big! LOL. I dug in my closet to find another outfit, saw something that wouldn't even button up back when I was pre-op and thought that there's no way it fits. It fit like a glove with some room to breathe! This surgery is truly a miracle. There are many ways you could slip up, sure, but it does 90% of the work for you.

    Food Journaling

I haven't felt the need to log anything since surgery, but I am now almost 8 weeks post up and calories are starting to creep up... especially because I've been terrible and having liquid calories and frozen yogurt and slider foods. Today was the first day I felt out of control, and I retroactively logged all of my food: 1500 calories. Yes. Only 8 weeks in. I could sit around and think of myself as a failure or I could just pick myself up and realize that I don't have the insane restriction I had anymore and that food choices DO matter. Coincidentally, it is my lowest protein % day. I am going to adhere to that protein first rule from now on. Despite being at a 500 calorie deficit I feel terrible. It feels even more terrible than my 4000 calorie binges back in the day.

What is your post op diet like?

Mine was 3 days clear liquid, a week of full liquids, 2 weeks of blended foods, and 2 weeks of soft foods. After the full liquids stage, I was 2-3 days early to every stage because I'm impatient. For what it's worth, I consume now less calories on solid foods (that includes gourmet foods from restaurants and snacks) than I did on blended foods. I was one of those who some foods felt incredibly easy to eat, and other foods truly showed me how restricted my sleeve is. Foods like yogurt, soups, any beverages including thick protein shakes, I could have endlessly, luckily I am not a fan of any of those things now ever since my post op diet.
  14. I am in my sixth week post op. I've finally found a protein powder I can tolerate and I've been starting every morning with a 280 calorie/36 grams protein beverage, and that really helped me hit my protein goals. However, yesterday I did not have time to make my protein shake yesterday and I ended up feeling the same way (i.e. energized and not fatigued) and not overeating after, eating only 600 calories instead of 900. And I like that. I cannot help shake off how easy it was for me to consume 900 calories with the protein shakes so early and it made me panic. Anyway, the day after, I've had a smooth bowel movement (I was constipated before), broke through the weight stall, and woke up feeling lighter. I was thinking maybe the protein shakes were making my problems worse. Does anyone else have the same thing? Would consuming a protein shake every other day instead of every day help even if I am not hitting my protein goals every day? Also I severely dislike premier protein now and anything that comes premade, I know it's less calories I just cannot stomach it anymore. It's too sweet.

    Vacation and weight-loss!!

I am actually looking forward to vacations now, I used to be SO active on holiday to the point where I would gorge myself on food (think 4000 cals a day) and ONLY gain a pound or two. I am thinking even if I indulge with my sleeve I am guaranteed to lose weight!

    Any February Sleevers?

I've had good days and bad days, now that I am starting to get busier and that I am back at work, it is SO hard to 1) remember to eat, 2) be able to eat more than 200 cals in one "meal". I thought it was going to be as easy as it was when I had so much free time at home and I would literally eat all day. All of my foods are soft and on the borthy side of things, despite me having no problem with solid food, but solid food seems to fill me up from one tablespoon and that is ridiculous. But honestly I am enjoying this. Makes me feel less guilty about eating that 110 cal energy bite I make at home using calorie dense ingredients like dates and almond butter.
  17. From the title, it sounds like the most unhealthy thing ever, but it is NOT! It is the equivalent of baking sweet potatoes along with poached chicken topped with a little cheese LOL. I bake sweet potato fries in the oven till they are crispy, I get the crinkle kind from McCain. The serving size is 3 oz (160 calories) but that's enough for two meals (if not more). I then cook some poached and shredded chicken (no more than 2 oz) along with a few tablespoons of Buffalo wing sauce till it's nice and coated. In a nice individual serving baking plate, I layer as follows: 1- The crispy sweet potato fries. 2- Finely shredded sharp cheddar. 3- The chicken with its sauce. 4- Mozzarella cheese and sharp cheddar. I broil it till the cheese melts and it's ooey gooey and golden, then drizzle with a little bit of homemade greek yogurt ranch dressing. This would be amazing with bleu cheese crumbles too. IT IS SO GOOD!

Sweet potato buffalo chicken cheesy fries!

Yep, my surgeon cleared me to eat normal foods that aren't hard or raw (this is pretty soft btw, the chicken is moist from the sauce and is very easy to chew), and anything I can chew down to a paste before swallowing. That means no raw fruits, no raw veggies, greens, nuts, etc I am doing very well and he said that as long as I don't get sick or some form of indigestion it's fine. In case you are curious, I had 3 days of clear liquid, a week of full liquid, 2 weeks of blended foods, and now I am on normal foods that are on the soft side, but that includes stuff like crackers that can easily melt when hydrated.

I did not do anything special, just the same as I did always I seem to be on another stall now haha.

    Any February Sleevers?

My stall lasted about a week (started mid week 3). Sometimes my weight went up, as well. I am now mid week 4.

    Any February Sleevers?

23 days post op. Yesterday I had my highest ever calorie day, a whooping 800 calories! I felt like a pig LOL, and I was eating *all day* it's surprising what it takes these days when back in the day I'd still feel hungry after 2000 calories. I won't make a habit of it, I feel like it's too soon to be eating 800 calories, but with the introduction of new foods, eating has been way easier. I won't count but I will try to stick to 600 calories, I have years of calorie counting and weighing foods under my belt so I sort of know what it looks like. BUT GUESS WHAT! I broke through the stall! WHOOOSH 4 pounds in one go. Total loss of 27.5 pounds in 22 days.
  22. Yep, same here, on my 4th week and hit my first stall. Don't worry, apparently it's very famous and almost everyone experiences a stall at 3-4 weeks post op.

    Any February Sleevers?

Everything's been going down really smoothly and I've been cleared to eat anything I can chew down to a paste! I've had the reduced fat triscuits with some tuna, olive oil, lemon, relish and black pepper. IT WAS TO DIE FOR. I MISSED FOOD! It took only one triscuit (I originally put in a half serving of 3 lol), and less than 2 oz of tuna. I swear I don't recognize myself anymore.
  24. I asked my surgeon "how much weight am I expected to lose?" and he said, "all the way to your goal weight". Just because people ON AVERAGE lose 70% of their excess body weight, doesn't mean you should measure yourself up to that. Try to reach your own goals, and many people have. I think it's because that last 30% is completely down to your food choices, and that 70% happens relatively easily.

    Any February Sleevers?

I feel like I don't understand my sleeve at all, some foods go down with generous amounts, and some foods make me super full from two bites. I feel like that's why the results of the sleeve differ from person to person, it's all about the food choices we make. It's tempting to pick stuff we can eat a lot of. There in lies the trap.
