Any February Sleevers?

I just got my surgery date. February 12th. It hadn’t felt real till now that it’s actually happening. I know it might sound weird but now the nerves are kicking in.

No they didn’t tell me anything. I have s follow up visit next week. I will find out then.

So I had my follow up visit today. I was told that my hiatal hernia was huge and was up in my diaphragm, and that if he were to perform the gastric sleeve it would be a risk causing it to collapse into my diaphragm. Which would cause nausea & vomiting and the only option for me right now is to do the gastric bypass. He then gave me the option of waiting 6 weeks to get an x ray so they can check to see if the hernia healed properly and if so then I can get the gastric sleeve.

Me too! I’m having surgery on the 28th. Geeez! And this liquid diet is a lot harder than I expected. I hate talking to myself- lol! I’m so looking forward to a new way of life! I’m petrified of failing but at the same time I think this is going to be what I needed.

We got this! My hash tag for our surgery date is last day of February first day of my new life [emoji847]. My Instagram info is on the post above if you wanna keep in touch to encourage one another

Guys about how many calories are you getting in one week out I don’t know if I am good or should be getting more. I get between 300 to 400 but I am so exhausted.

Pre op diet 188
Surgery day 180
Cw 172.8

I'm 8 days post op, and have been feeling great. But I was a little over confident today. I went to get my nails done, then went to two stores on a long, look at every label, grocery shopping trip. I started to get shaky and sweaty. I apparently am not having quite the miraculous recovery I thought I was!

How many calories are you taking in?

Thank you I was worried I wasn’t taking in enough. I have been just broth and protein drinks.

That we are and it’s so nice to see everyone surgeries go off without any complications. At first I was bummed about being the last day of the month. But watching everyone else be successful is just the encouragement I needed!

My Nutritionist said to try and get 400-500 calories a day for the first week but mostly to focus on getting in enough liquids. 48-64 Oz of liquids a day. I reached my calorie goal easily when I ate Cream of Wheat. I waited about a week after surgery to eat that though, but it is high in Carbs and calories but delicious and pretty easy to get down. I am now in my second week and am told to get in 500-600 calories a day. My surgery was on 2/12 and I just got back to work today. I work a desk job. I am still in some pain and wish I could take some of my harder meds, but I will wait until after work so that I can stay coherent.

Well I am a week out from my sleeve, I think things are going well, still some pain and discomfort but gets better everyday, I’m getting up in the morning and having a 10oz cup of decaf coffee with caramel Protein as a creamer, takes me about an hour to drink it. I’m having a cream Soup or lunch which I can get about 8 baby spoons full down before I’m stuffed. Then maybe a little yougurt at night, I have been walking some and using the nectar protein in Water so I can get close to my protein goal

There have been some emotional breakdowns especially since my wife has gone back to work but I’m not regretting it.
