Breast reduction- did anyone get one after surgery? If so why?

Recommended Posts

First of all, you look amazing!

Congratulations!

I always felt insecure about my breasts but never got them done because doctors said if I lose weight my breasts would shrink... that never happend! ha

On July 6th my life change! I finally had the breasts that I always wanted. All the clothes fit me better, my self-esteem went up to the sky!

I feel complete.

I finally feel like me.

I’m happier for my new breasts than the 80lbs weight loss.

Go for it!

(Sorry if there are some mistakes, it’s google translator’s fault)

This is definitely a hard one. I really hope to avoid plastics myself, but I'm not working with anything as dramatically ..."gifted"... as you are.

Not sure what cup size you are wearing, but I'm 30lbs from goal and wear a 36DDD bra, and am overflowing a bit, so I actually need the next cup size bigger (what size is that anyway? E? F?). Not buying a bigger bra since I'm hoping to keep shrinking. (I started out at 42DDD, so my band/cup keeps shrinking proportionally).

Aesthetically, people tend to prefer an hourglass figure, which means your chest should approximate your hip measurement. It doesn't really matter what "people" like, of course.. it matters what YOU like. But if you do decide on a reduction, I recommend aiming for DDD or smaller, so you can wear bras from regular stores.

(If I had your chest, I probably WOULD opt for surgery.. to minimize future back pain, and for better clothing fit.. but gosh, there are risks there too. Tough choice!).

I started out at a 46J cup. I'm now down 100 lbs and wearing a 40K. That's right...i got a fitting because bras weren't fitting. The cup size gets slightly smaller as the band size gets smaller...so my breasts haven't really gone down much...mostly stayed the same. But with the smaller band size I need the larger cup to keep it closer to my original J.
I am looking forward to a reduction and lift.
Finding clothes, bras, bathing suits, sports bras to fit me is a dream that will hopefully come true.
I do get back, neck, and shoulder pains. I have divets in my shoulders from the straps. I've even lost circulation in my arms/hands because the straps were too tight.
I would talk to a doctor and ask to talk with some former patients. Check out before and after pics. When I see those pics I feel a sense of relief...and I want that myself.
Good luck and congrats on all your success.

I would get breast reduction as your large breasts take away from your weight loss. They make you look bigger than you are. Not criticizing but that’s my opinion.

I totally agree. I would look smaller if they are reduced

I don't want it to be huge and gross like kim kardashian, but i would hate to look like a 12 year old boy lol. I need some curves so i will definitely buy one just so i can have a nice hour glass shape.

Try Kirby Kate for a bra. I went from a 40 G to a 28 F. That is post reduction I had a little in my bum built up. Avoided all implants as they have to be replaced - feel great and my PS worked magic. Best to you.

I was a 42 DDD after weight loss I went to 34DDD cup never changed I had reduction but dr took me to very small B cup almost A cup so now I’m getting Gummy implants/gel in late March , going back to D cup nothing larger.. reduction surgery was a horrible mistake got me because I lost so much weight I look flat chested in a push up bra currently.

So now that i'm closer to my goal, i'm looking into possibly having some work done so i can feel great about myself.
I'm definitely buying a bigger butt. But i'm debating on whether or not i should get a breast reduction too. I'm not having pains or anything that would require me to get one. And i'm conflicted because i'm glad they're still intact post op. The reason why i'm actually considering it is because of buying clothes, my waist is a small, but my chest is definitely a large, so it makes buying anything with a button or a zipper a challenge. I'm also afraid that if i do get a reduction then my stomach will become more noticeable. 04AA6886-C793-4EB7-8FBE-7383104CB9B9.thumb.jpg.9a95ea9c9eaae005faadad68c4b98c98.jpg IMG_2636.thumb.JPG.8cd0fe08c0cf2efe25df87245b717d81.JPG
Below are my before and after photos. What do you suggest i do? (Obviously the two photos on the left are my before pics and the jumpsuit is my after)

I know this is super old but just wanted to say I think you look great. I also think you could get a reduction to be more proportional if you choose and still have big juicy boobies! Congrats!

I had a Breast reduction and a lift along with Arms, Circumference Tummy and back/ bra line. I had it done because they were sagging 1/2 way down my body.

I was a 38G before the gastric sleeve

After 55lb loss I went down to a 38 DDD. Just had reduction/lift 5 days ago and so far very pleased. Still a lot of swelling, minimal pain. I had Lipo on my stomach too. I was told to ask for a reduction instead of a lift because a lift is included with a reduction. I think if you have smaller breast then request a lift since a reduction may not be needed. If these pics are against the rules please let me know.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
