  2. I take a multivitamin and 2 calcium citrate pills in the morning. I usually eat Greek yogurt for breakfast, and drink coffee with half and half. I used a generic calcium citrate for a few days, but noticed the nausea got so bad so fast that I was vomiting nearly every morning, whether I had food in my stomach or not. I switched to a name-brand calcium citrate, and I was good for a while, but lately I've been noticing some creeping nausea every morning again. It's now to the point where I get severely nauseated, feel like I'm going to vomit, and then I sneeze and the nausea goes away. I did the same thing with morning sickness when I was pregnant. Weird! I don't have a solution, unfortunately, other than maybe try a different brand of vitamin? Might help for a little while, anyway. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it.

    Gastric Bypass - Help?!

Hey Jon 🙂 Thank you so much for coming back to me. It is so nice to be able to relate back to someone even if it is over a hard situation! I am totally the same, I just don't have it in me anymore to force myself to diet and then be triggered by a situation again and let it all pile back on. Ah that is good to hear that you have minimal pain, to be honest I haven't even been worrying about the pain side as I have been a bit caught up with the mental side 😞 I think I am more anxious of having my comfort blanket of food pulled away from me? But I am crying out for change so that needs to happen! Also I am so happy to hear that you pushed on through and had the surgery, I 100% think you made the right decision based on what you've told me and I am so excited to see how you progress in your journey! 🙂 Thank you for all your advice, it's comforting to have people who know how you feel, have a lovely day! 🙂
  4. Hello IF gang! Has anyone managed to get to 48 hours? I just finished the Obesity Code (great book) and I have managed a two 20 fasts and just finished a 33 hour fast. I could have went longer since I didn't feel any adverse effects or hunger but I dunno--I freaked out. Like I am terrified I am going to suddenly pass out from an electrolyte imbalance or something will go amiss with my BP (I have hypertension). I need some IF balls, people!!!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

So glad I have this forum with you guys sharing your weight loss journey here. It's a relief to know that I'm not the only one stalling, like a lot. I am making myself crazy. I'm going to go to WM today and buy a measuring tape :-)

I love it when blood work goes smoothly! I lucked out last week when I did mine... I barely sat down in the waiting area and I was called back. Same with my ECG. It was great! One more thing off the to-do list!

oh my gosh, I'm SO HAPPY for you!! Congrats!! I'm not even sure I can get my dr's office to go ahead and submit. The young lady who is giving me the hardest time said "I spent 2 hrs on the phone with them just to make sure and they said it had to be 6 months, back to back..yada, yada, yada" She makes me VERY CONCERNED in that she never wants me to be part of the convo with my own insurance and always says that me calling makes things harder as I'm not "talking to the same people". Seriously, if the surgeon wasn't one I highly desired, I would RUN away (not just walk) from having to talk to this young woman.

Wow... I don't know how I would feel being told to *not* lose weight. Wishing you luck with that!

    Plateau since month 6

I went through this same thing. I did everything I could do food wise, I was told to try swimming. The change in activity to swimming was a whole body workout and this got my metabolism moving again. Good luck to you.

Omg a medium! Congrats!!!!! I bet it felt like I felt being able to pull those size 14 pants on over my butt! And yes.... fat rolls at the top of the pants are what’s going to keep me from wearing them for another 6-8 weeks, but the whole point was to have summer clothes, lol. Gotta keep reminding myself if it fits perfectly now, it won’t by June. That’s kinda hard for me to do the mental adjustment after a lifetime of diet fails. Part of my mind is expecting that I’ve just purchased yet another batch of clothing that “just needs 15 pounds” to fit and that will sit in my closet til the end of time. Don’t worry.... by true summer those fat rolls will be in the rear-view mirror and you’ll be ROCKING that swimsuit. Lol, I was wearing very very snug size 22’s when February started. If I recall, you started out with a BMI of just 35%, so I think you’re doing an amazing job.

    MAY 2019

So as of Tuesday night, the surgeon's office finally had my approval letter. They told me the surgeon still has to sign off on it so I still don't have a date. I also have a cold and feel like crap but don't want to take the time off as I have to save PTO for surgery. I would qualify for short term disability but I have to have PTO for the first week.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

I just got my sleeve Mon, Apr 15 and came home yesterday. Things have gone really well! I’m working on my fluid intake with my tracker sheet. My pain has been minimal, as has been my nausea. I’m mostly just tired, which is totally expected. I got my laps in at the hospital with no problems, and am making sure I get up at least once an hour during awake hours to keep blood circulating. My biggest struggle has been doing the spirometer as often as I should have in the hospital and I can tell.

    Anyone else eat melba toast?

Melba toast and multi grain crackers are on my list for Week 5. I never ate them before surgery and don't plan on it, since I don't see the nutritional benefit (mostly of melba toast).

Measuring tape will be your friend. In fact, it’s what I went for first this week before I weighed in because I just knew after my 3 pound week last week I’d see a number I didn’t want to see Good thing, because I’d lost a half inch on my waist and hips and 3/4 inch on my lower abs. I’m very pear-shaped so these are the areas I pay attention to most. So far nobody’s really said anything about my lost weight which is kinda disappointing, but hopefully soon it will start to be really noticeable

Anyone else playing the waiting game?!?

I am the same way. I do have meds for my anxiety but I hate not being in control.

Anyone else playing the waiting game?!?

I am waiting also. Just heard back this morning from insurance and after they had the paperwork for a week and it was the last day they had to get in touch with me they tell me they need information from my family doctor. So now I get to wait longer

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Hey everyone!!!! Can we get some updates from those who have had surgery? Let's provide some encouragement and realistic expectations for our 3rd and 4th week April Surgery Pals :-)
  22. HI All, Need a little assist here. Was Sleeved 2/11/19... In the morning I am normally rushed (get myself ready and kids ready and to school and then off to work all by 7:30am) and don't have time to make a meal... I was taking my vitamins and meds before I left the house in the morning (Bariatric Choice ONCE DAILY Vitamin, Ursodiol, a bp med, and pantoprazole), however afte rtaking the pills on my way to work I would gag and cough and a couple times had to pull over to vomit... So I thought I had a solution - On my way to work I drink a Premier Protein shake and then take the pills, so I have at least something in my stomach when I take the pills. It went well for a couple weeks and then today I got the same thing soon after taking the pills and had to pull over... Anyone else have this issue? and is there any good solution?

I’ve always wondered this too. My team has never set a goal for me or given me an amount they expect me to lose.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

So I got a question for you all: the 60% average of excess weight that most patients lose in the first year, how do you determine what is 'excess'? Are we suppose to be using the BMI scale which for me is max 164 lbs, or one of the ideal weight scales, which is 141-145 lbs. ??
