I ate homemade chicken Soup. The soup had the liquid that I was used to and the chicken introduced the solid food which was tender since it was in the soup. The next batch after that I put in some thin egg noodles.

So noodles are ok at some point? I thought Pasta might be out forever

I’m 3 mos and have not had pasta/noodles. I’ve recently had rice in sushi. Some say they can expand in your tummy but I️ didn’t have a problem with sushi. I’ve never loved pasta so haven’t had it. Anything you would eat on rice or pasta can be substituted with quinoa - a better choice I️ think.

My hubby made a low fat Buffalo chicken Dip with shredded chicken breast and it was so good. I just ate it with a spoon and it was great. Crackers were allowed on my plan early out so the second time I ate it I had a few crackers for a little crunch.

Another delish meal was a tuna melt, warmed up the tuna a little with some melted cheese, lettuce for crunch, Tomato and used a Mission Carb Balance wrap which I browned up a little.

BLT's on a lettuce wrap instead of bread. Lettuce boats, low fat mayo, tomato and turkey bacon, or pork if that's what you prefer.

Also homemade chili was another good meal. You could make it with turkey or beef and add to it what you want.

By the time I started solids (10wks) I was allowed to eat anything as tolerated but I know some plans do not allow fresh veggies so you will have to follow what your plan allows of course/

Thanks for all the great ideas! I was super scared to eat anything solid. But I did try just a little on Thanksgiving. A few bites of turkey and ham cut very very small and I chewed them to death. Also a buffalo chicken dip with a few crackers. It all went very well. Thanks again everyone!!

Hi all - I'm about 3.5 weeks out and I was wondering if sometimes you feel absolutely famished and other days you can barely finish your Protein Shake? Yesterday, for the first time, I ate 2 4oz meals and my Protein shake and today I can barely get down my shake! What's the deal? These recipes you all provided make me excited for soft foods next week!

Yes some days I am starving and I feel like I need to eat every 2 hours. And it seems like the day after I eat more often, I’m not as hungry. Good luck in your journey

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
