Hey Everyone

I am 7 days post op and I keep having bad spurts of motion sickness and dizziness. I am so completely miserable. Has anyone experienced this and know when it will stop? My meds aren't working

Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • GW 180 (TBD)

I am also 7 days postop. I have not had motion sickness or dizziness but my balance has been off. I attribute it to being older and having general anesthesia. It gets better day to day. I am 64. Don't know if I am right but that is what I thinkl

10 days post surgery. I am ready for some soft foods! Can not believe I have one more week to go! I am sick of Soups and shakes!

I am only 6 days post surgery and I feel the same way. I have definitely never been this jazzed to eventually eat an egg.

Haha I keep telling my wife the same thing about the eggs.

Luuuuuuuuv eggs! Can’t wait to incorporate them again and hope desperately that I’ll tolerate them.

Hi!
Same date (as long as insurance approves) and same doctor! Great to meet someone on here that's close!

Same date. Just got the call and approval today!! 10/24!!!

I am scheduled for Mon Oct. 23. 5 days left on my pre-op clear liquid diet and going strong. Looking forward to the next phase of this journey.

Good for you. I am 5 days post surgery today and it has been a world of difference today. I got some soup down, more water and about 45 grams so far of protein. Feel much better too. I am hoping this will flush out the fluids they filled me full of during hospital so my weight will go back to what it was day of surgery and start losing.

Same here. I was sleeved on 10/11/17, but I’m only getting about 40oz of fluids down.

I had my surgery 10/9/17 and had my first pre op appt today. Since the surgery I lost 14.2 pounds. I am starting phase 2 of the diet. Having a hard time getting enough fluids and protein in. Healing good but had a reaction to the tape they used. My stomach is red all over. Dr. didn't seem concerned told me to take benadryl and follow up in a week. For everyone starting ore op diet hang in there lost 26 pounds so far between pre op and surgery.

Wow that's awesome! Good for you! I had bypass one day after you on the 10th and I have hardly lost anything since. I guess I am not getting in enough protein and calories, but seems like I am sipping constantly.

Disappointed for you!

I am not in need of the massive choice of post-op pain meds (basic analgesics and narcotics) that they sent me home with. I am six days post op and enjoying my fourth full day at home.

My bowels took a day or two to stabilise to solids or thick liquids; the couple of days of flatulence, wet gas bursts and runny liquids seems to be over.

The only med I am taking (other than my hypertension medication) is a reflux drug (esomeprazole) which my surgeon put me on a week before my op. He says I'll PROBABLY need it until about a week or two into solid foods.

I was dizzy the afternoon and evening of the op (Thursday) and part of the next day. After several walks around the upper storey of the hospital, they sent me home late Saturday afternoon.

I do hope your symptoms decline soon and that you head to normalcy soon.
