  1. Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 10/10 and I just hit about 7 weeks out. The picture on the left was me the day before my two week pre-op diet and the right was at my 7 week mark. I feel incredible. I have more energy, my chronic pain is virtually gone and I am no longer pre-diabetic. I have no regrets about this surgery. I had a really rough time in the beginning but it got so much better after the first month. I was stuck in a two week stall but the scale is finally moving. I took measurements through the process and I strongly encourage others to, because after awhile the scale will not be your friend lol. I just wanted to post some encouragement this morning for someone maybe considering the surgery or maybe about to have it. It will be the best decision of your life! 4. I use the patches from patchmd.com. My surgeon recommended them so that I don’t have to swallow vitamins. They almost always have a coupon code too! Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)
  5. I am four days post op and it feels like my dry mouth is getting so much worse. When I sleep, I wake up and my mouth feels like a desert. I have been sipping fluids constantly, mostly water. Does anyone know any quick remedies to help with this because it is so uncomfortable? Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • GW 180 (TBD)
  6. Hey everyone. I am only about 9 days out from getting my sleeve. I have been trying to transition to full liquids on my plan, but literally everything makes my stomach cramp. It's like I almost feel like I have a stomach virus every time I put something into my sleeve. Even my stage one liquids are starting to bother me. I feel so miserable and slightly regretting my decision of doing this. I just want to feel better. Please tell me someone else has experienced this and knows how to help me. 7. Hey everyone! Just wanted to give an update now that I'm 12 days post op. After feeling defeated I decided that I was going to do everything I can to make this a positive experience. I realized that there are just some foods that I cannot tolerate, but there are also some that I can. If something makes my stomach hurt I immediately put it down and try something else. I was also making the mistake of drinking water while I ate which is a big no no. It was a hard habit to break. Someone suggested I try to drink some tea in the morning to help loosen and calm my stomach. I have been doing that and it has really helped. I'm hoping it gets better from here. I know I am in a much better place than last week so that has to account for something right? Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)

    DRY MOUTH SOS

I am in the same boat as you unfortunately everything that is liquid gags me and won't go down. At first I had no problem drinking water and now it seems difficult to get that down. I get scared because I have trouble getting anywhere near my protein or fluids however I'm told that that is probably the reason I am feeling bad. Today I am aiming to sip water all day and try to get down some of the okios Greek protein yogurt. I guess we just have to keep trying different foods until we find a winner but I really hoped it wouldn't be this difficult for me (( I see so many people who say they feel awesome after and I feel so much worse. 9. I haven't noticed an aching pain but I do still have my gallbladder. I will give my surgeon a call. I'm just miserable. Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)
  10. I just went for my first visit a few days ago and she didn't seem concerned. I will try to call and tell her it is still going on. Thank you! Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)
  11. No I didn't get instructions like those. I will try them. Thank you!!! Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)
  12. Sorry I guess I wasn't very clear. I have a booklet that I am trying to follow. My first week was clear liquids, right now is full liquids, next week purée, then soft foods and so on. The gave me several examples of what to try. My issue is that anytime something touches my stomach, I get almost a stomach virus sensation. My stomach knots up. Protein drinks come right back up. I have gradually been trying something new each day but I've found that there are more things that hurt me than ones that go down okay. I was curious if anyone else experienced this and if it is just temporary? Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)
  13. Thank you for responding. It makes me feel better that I am not alone. I hate to have these negative feelings, and I try not to share them with others in my life because I don't want to be difficult to be around. It just has been wearing on me and it's nice to see that I'm not the only one having these feelings. I also have some phobias about creating a leak. If we just stick to the plan we should be fine! 14. I am 11 days out today. As of today I am down 25 pounds since my two week preop diet (I only lost about 8 preop). It is crazy to me how fast the weight is coming off, but I know this won't last long. Today I went to the grocery and one of my friends walked past me and didn't realize it was me, that was a good feeling. I have been having some major depression post op. I feel so uncomfortable. I'm not sure what to put in my stomach and I can already tell it's temperamental. I don't even want junk food anymore, I just want food. I want to physically chew something and not being able to is making me grouchy and down. I'm hoping this goes away soon. I didn't believe everyone when they told me I'd feel awful afterwards physically and emotionally. I figured with the weight coming off I'd be excited instead. I am very excited that I have lost a great amount of weight and don't want to be ungrateful, but that excitement only lasts for so long. I know that once I am fully healed and able to follow a balanced and healthy diet that I will not regret this. But right now, I am thinking "WHAT THE F**K HAVE I DONE?" Should I have just stayed fat? I wish I didn't feel this way. Anyone else? Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • CW 242 (10/21) • GW 180 (TBD)

    Leaking from incesion

I was sleeved 10/10 and went for my one week checkup yesterday. I had the same exact thing. My surgeon bandaged it and said it was fine. As long as there isn't a bad smell and only a little. It's coming from my biggest incision and she said it happens. I still think you should consult your doc, but don't panic. Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • GW 180 (TBD)

    Pre op lab work?

My surgeons office sent an order to my primary care for just a few labs. I also had to do some when I pre-registered at the hospital a few days before surgery. I would call your surgeons office to see if they require any labs. Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • GW 180 (TBD)

  23. Hey guys! I am 5 days post op (vsg 10/10/17). I know there are a bunch of people on this thread with dates close to mine. I'm just curious, when did you guys first weigh yourself after surgery? I've been fighting it because I heard you gain some with all the fluids and gas. I can tell my clothes are falling off more and more everyday but I still have anxiety over the scale. DRY MOUTH SOS

I was a little congested after surgery and I guess I was sleeping with my mouth open and that's what was causing a lot of it. But I was getting it randomly during the day time if I wasn't constantly chewing on ice or sipping something. Sleeved 10/10/17 • HW 280 (3/1/17) • SW 259 (10/10) • GW 180 (TBD)
